I'm a bit of a newbie here (my 2nd season), but maybe I can help you a bit with my advice.
First, whenever possible, focus on inside strategy. This means put on PG, SG and SF players with good passing. If you play against someone who is adapting to opponents' strategy, play "Patient" or "Motion" or something like that (and change the lineup accordingly).
Second, if you don't have an outside player with very good OD and PA, I would buy such a player, which would fit your strategy.
Third, don't use 1-3-1 strategy unless you are 100% sure you don' t have another choice. In a game against "Champion Teo", you used 1-3-1 zone, while he used "Look inside". Unless you have great OD defense to prevent his outside players' passing, I wouldn't use this tactic...maybe 3-2, but mainly when I'm not sure what to use, i play Man to man defense.
I hope I helped you a bit.
