For division 4 I think a level 2 or 3 doctor is sufficient.
Getting a new doctor now won't help speed up the injury time for your pg too much though but it will help with future injuries.

Agreed, a level 3 maybe 4 should be sufficient. I have a level 5, and still my trainee is injured; sometimes it can't be helped, but a better doctor significantly lessens that chance.

Also, you might want a specialty on your doctor; massage helps with keeping your game shape up and taping injuries helps nurse injuries that do occur

Also, you might want a specialty on your doctor; career extension slows the drop on skills for your old guys, and fitness lowers the rate of stamina drops.

You listed the specialties for trainers. The specialties for doctors are taping specialty and massage specialty. If a player is injured during a match and the injury is only lasting for that match, then a taping specialty doctor could allow that player to continue playing in that match after a short break. A massage specialty doctor will mean that players that play too many minutes for gameshape purposes won't suffer as much from a gameshape drop.

Has anyone quantified the benefit of massage speciality as it relates to game shape? I know the range for game shape, 48-79, with 60-65 being ideal. So does that mean the ranges broaden? Can you get away with playing a guy 85 minutes in a week?

Firstly, I think the range for gameshape minutes is about 48 to 75 minutes. Playing 79 minutes constantly will decrease gameshape rather than increase it.
Secondly, I agree that the ideal range is around 60 to 65 minutes.
Massage specialty (in my experience) allows you to play around 80 minutes without experiencing a big drop.

I think the massage specialty allows you to play about 3 or 4 minutes extra with no harm on gameshape. Playing 85 minutes a week is too much, even with massage specialty.

Okay, thanks for that info...to clarify, can a guy (who has a Dr with massage speiciality) play 75-80 minutes consistently and stay at proficient/strong or to stay in that range can he only once in a while hit 80 minutes without a drop?

Well considering there is a random factor he might drop to respectable occasionally when playing 75-80 minutes.
I think you could play 74-77 minutes and still maintain decent gameshape with a massage doctor, but make sure that you aim for 60-65 minutes at least every once in a while to get an extra boost in gameshape.
