I am currently training my favorite player who is 19 years old. He has trained very fast and within this past season has popped 14 times in multiple areas and im afraid he has reached his cap by using a salary calculator. He has starter potential and is a beast for my team even though his stats dont show it. Im sure he sells a lot of jerseys for my time as well. However im afraid if i keep him i will just start to lose money because of his salary even though i dont want to let him go. Should i let my favorite player go or keep him regardless of losing money? here are his stats

Jay Martinez PG
DMI: 27500
Age: 19
Height: 6'5" / 196 cm
Potential: starter
Game Shape: strong
Jump Shot: strong Jump Range: respectable
Outside Def.: strong Handling: proficient
Driving: proficient Passing: average
Inside Shot: pitiful Inside Def.: respectable
Rebounding: pitiful Shot Blocking: respectable
Stamina: awful Free Throw: inept

Experience: pitiful

I would agree with that assessment, but I would try to give him some other training—it looks like a lot of his training has been 1-on-1. Give him more passing and OD.

Having said that, you should never keep a player just because you like him. If a player has more value on the market than it has for your team you should sell him.
.

I disagree. The love/hate relationship I have with my players is part of the fun of the game. =D

If you are sentimental about a player do what I, and a lot of other users do. Place him on the market for more than he's worth and if someone buys him then it is their loss and you get more money than you should have so you may lose your favorite, but you'll have money to get a new favorite, and better player. If he doesn't sell no harm done.

Thank You for the replies. I was hoping he wasnt about to cap but thats what the salary calculator said which is probably wrong. I am planning on giving him more training on OD and Passing to make him better. I just hate that you get a favorite player and you dont want to let him go because youve put so much effort into making him good. Even though that stuff happens even in the NBA but i just feel like he could help me get promoted only to a certain point then he wont make a difference. Sometimes i wish the potential wasnt on here but then there would be a lot of really good players and that wouldnt be good.

i agree that its hard to let a guy go because you got them good and everything. i bought my guy domingo haitze last season and now hes 19 and he is really good. i dont think I am gonna sell him though cuz I should promote and he would be good in IV. like oriolekid said if you can get more for him than what you should, then it would be good for you. i would train him a little more if you plan to sell him.

Hes not a problem yet but if he is that high next season then ill really have problems...i wouldnt lose much money because im at the top in profit for my league, however i wouldnt be able to get anyone to improve my team. I jusy hope i can promote. I also hope that salary calculator is wrong lol.
