Just wondering how effective gameshape training is?
For example, if I play a player for 96 minutes and he currently has strong gameshape and I have a doctor with massage specialty and I train gameshape for this week, would his gameshape stay on strong, go down or go up?

C'mon man, if you don't know the answer, who does?? ;)

My best guess: you just can't know for sure, there's always a random factor..

haha.
Well the reason I was asking is because I plan on training gameshape for the rest of the season to see how effective it is. But if someone else already knows then I won't bother doing it :P

You should probably know there is no point on training gameshape. Besides, you can "train" it with enough minutes to increase their shape.

My best bet, it will increase gameshape with 2, if you are inside 30 - 90 mins, if you play more or less, it will increase by just 1 pop. I haven't tried myself, can't know for sure.

I disagree that training gameshape is pointless.
For example, I want to win all the remaining games in my div 2, and to do this I need to play my best players a lot. I am not training any young players until next season and I have already got high stamina and high free throws.
So training gameshape allows me to play all my best players in all the games without experiencing a drop in gameshape.
I already have all high gameshapes, I just want to know if I have the option to overplay minutes and train gameshape and keep gameshape levels the same or increase a little bit.

Training gameshape is important when your stupid coach cannot figure out how to install a system that gives minutes appropriately. I've got one of those coaches.

For whatever reason, my starting PG and backup PG do not rotate fairly well at all. They've done well in seasons past and I never really had a problem with their gameshape but for whatever reason this season, my starting PG had been playing 42 minutes a game while his backup for several seasons now (since Season 6) has been getting about 6 minutes a game ... something that seems way off. There have been times when I switched them around or sat my starter to give my backup a shot at running the show, so minutes appear realistic right now, but when playing the same rotation of my starter/backup, my starter received far too many minutes.

So I had to train gameshape back to the point where my PG was playing on GS of 5 but rather closer to the typical 8 or 9 he's been accustomed to.

BTW, his most recent pop in gameshape was a +3. I think a Fitness trainer might have helped there but then again, I am not sure what exact impact a Fitness trainer has on the overall impact on training.

As far as I am aware, a fitness trainer has no impact at all on gameshape.
So when you trained gameshape, what was the gameshape before, and what was it after? And how many minutes did the player play that week?
Thanks

I trained gameshape for 2 weeks when he was at Mediocre. First week he played 2 games, 26 minutes, no change in Gameshape. Second week he played 55 minutes and improved in Gameshape from Mediocre to Strong.

Trainer is Advanced with a focus on Fitness.

Fitness specialty has nothing to do with game shape. Fitness lessens stamina drops. Massage specialty on your doctor is what gives you slightly more leeway on game shape.

To answer your question about the minutes, my guess would be that his GS would drop one level, unless his current GS is at the high end of strong (You can guesstimate his sublevel by his DMI). I do not think that GS training is a waste of time if you are A) not currently developing prospects, trying to win all your games, and/or C) trying to save money by hiring a level 1 coach. The coach level makes no difference when training GS so you can save a bundle and have a team that is going to perform very well. You can also alternate with FT shooting to improve that as well.
Good luck.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

Thanks. I'll try the gameshape training and see how it goes. I'll post the results here.
