As far as I understand, all the TV games (except one) are against the rival.

This has a huge impact on the Fan survey and, of course, on the the arena attendance.
Wouldn't it be better to change the tv games to other teams? It is kind of annoying to have 1 ball during several weeks in two of the questions.

EDIT: Forget about it... I just realise I am the unlucky one... still, I think this situation should be avoid!

haha yeah you just got unlucky. None of my tv games were against my rival.
I suppose the advantage for you in having both games at the same time (rival and tv) is that it gives you a chance to focus a win on that one game and experience a boost for a long time.

I don't see why it should be changed to other teams. Because they are your rival team, and would be a great tv match for spectators in my opinion.

yeah but isn't it unfair sometimes how these are decided

i remember someone, i think from our pl crying about how they could win all but probably 3-5 games this season, and guess what those 3-5 games were

the 3 certain losses against the two strongest teams were all their tv games and their rival was the 3rd top team in the league

haha it sucks to be them

Well the TV games are decided randomly aren't they? So that means that it isn't unfair :P
It's either lucky or unlucky :P

Are they? i don't think so because mine have always been against the top teams in the league. My 3 TV games are against the 22-0 best Big 8 team from last season and the top Great 8 team from last season that didn't get promoted. My rival is the next best team from the Great 8 last season. Doesn't seem very random. Obviously being 19-0 it doesn't bother me and I am not complaining, it just doesn't seem random. When I was in division III the first time and even when I was getting pumped in division II almost all my TV games were against the best or second best team. It doesn't seem random at all. The fans want to see the best games so it is (almost) always against the best possible teams.

PS: Does anyone know how to figure out who were your rivals from past seasons?

My rival is one of the top teams in the league, however my tv games are against some of the middle/bottom teams.
Oh well, it doesn't bother me much :P Just win every game and there are no problems :D

It's a good idea to look at more instances than one if you want to say something is or isn't random. You say TV game allocation does not seem random based on your team, because you happen to face top teams. Remember that every team in the league will have exactly 3 TV games during the regular season, so it's clear the top teams will not appear in more TV games during the regular season than the bottom teams. Next step is to determine whether the TV games will be against teams that are (or were based on previous season) about the same level as your team. This is more complicated and you need to study quite a many teams to get any idea about possible correlation. I suggest you start by making the comparison for all the teams in your league. That will give you a better idea about the randomness of the TV game allocation.

Your rival obviously isn't randomly selected, as this selection is based on past games. If you enter a new league, the rival could of course be random in that case. I'm not sure if there has been any official word on that.

Actually I was partially tongue in cheek when I was saying this, I know not everyone plays against the top teams in their TV games, this would create an unequal amount of TV games. This is something that is completly beyond the players control and I was merely being a little sarcastic. As for the rivals I know this is generated with care as this season it was one last things to be done in the off season processing and there was a casual comment from a BB about how it took a lot of computational power (unless he was also being sarcastic, it is often very hard to tell from written material what someone's "tone" is), so it is far from random.

I am careful not to mislead new players in anything that matters, but this is a purely academic argument with no effect on anyone.
