Big 8 MVP:
Birol Yalduz (Lewisham Wombats)
The young Wombat was played out of position to great effect in their thumping off the Berwick Beers. Yalduz while playing PG Put up 33 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists off 14-25 from the field and 4-11 from beyond the arc.
Runner Ups:
Preston Grigg (Lewisham Wombats)
Preston returned to form for the wombats in an impressive performance. With 34 points off 14-21 shooting and 4-9 from 3 he was unstoppable against his little 4k salary opponent.
Tyler Chowdhary (AVALON JETS)
The Chowd is hitting some nice form coming into playoffs. This round he put up 27 points and 6 assists with 0 turnovers to seemingly put an end to Pheonix 5's playoff hopes.
It was a shootout this round with a few scorers having no problems finding the bottom of the net with just 2 games to go before the finals.
Great 8 MVP:
Kereama Stannard (Snuffies)
A big 36 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals for Stannard who won the shootout with the Meateors star scorer Nikita Nemkovich and led his team to an important 9 point victory.
Runner up:
Sui Haili (Coolcats)
Haili continues his scoring streak again this round with a big 41 point showing against the Billy Hoyle Boys. Haili showed now respect for the 3-2 zone at all, knocking down 9-16 3 pointers on 50% shooting overall.
Haili has averaged 37.8 points over his last 5 games, ominous signs for his opponents with just 1 game remaining before the playoffs begin.
Nikita Nemkovich (Meateors)
Nemkovich lost the shooout with Stannard and the Snuffies but he certainly gave it his all with a big 44 point, 6 assist game that only just fell short in the 9 point loss.
Rising Star:
Third - Josh Dowd (PAN)
After a great start to the season, Dowd has picked up his first votes for some time, with a solid game as the Pancakes accounted for Doncaster. Dowd scored 13 points, pulled down 4 boards, and picked up 3 steals while shutting down the opposing SG.
Second - Roy Warden (LAR)
Roy made the most of his limited minutes against Haggards, going 5-5 from the field and pulling down 14 boards in 19 minutes.
First - Birol Yalduz (WOM)
Big Birol put in a dominating performance in the Wombats blowout win over the Beers. Birol scored 33 points, to go alongside his 7 assists and 6 rebounds.
