In my eyes finishing a season betwen the third and the fifth place, is to unatractive because you rarely get a full arena income over the last 2,5 weeks of the season(i guess a average of 0,5 Homeincomes for it for the PO team, and the fifth team got nothing).

This leads always to curious situations, lwith highlights like this game -> (23028923).

And when you watch their schedule they are forfeiting games nearly a half season to get one of the good relegation places with 2-3 games with income and training:

Another team in my conference, will sell players because he lost the race to place two in my division and he don't knew how he should pay the salaries without those "extra" income(yeah this is also about planing, but without a too expensiv roster your chanches are very low to reach the first two places)

Personally, i like a reduction of the salary by 50% during the weeks without a "real" game but other solutions like bonuses etc. are welcome.

What about a bonus depending on what place you finish on the ladder at the end of the season.
1st place = 6 times the average weekly arena income
2nd place = 5 times the average weekly arena income
3rd place = 4 times the average weekly arena income
4th place = 4 times the average weekly arena income
5th place = 3 times the average weekly arena income
6th place = 2 times the average weekly arena income
7th place = 2 times the average weekly arena income
8th place = nothing

personaly i would find it a to big bonus to finish at the place like me, because i already make more money through arena income then the "weaker" team and have much better chanches to get more then one game.
Edit: this would be cose to 3m to me

Sorry I wasn't clear, I was talking about the weekly average for the league.
So everyone would be getting the same amount but multiplied by a different amount depending on where you finish.

yeah and 6 times would be 3m for me(6* 500k), i think that is to much when they still should have a chanche to catch up. Maybe the same bonus for all PO teams work,

Well if you get 3 million, then second place gets 500k x 5 which is 2.5 million. 500k isn't that big of an advantage. And you deserve it for coming first.

Double your franchise value and all the teams with a stronger franchise will just pull ahead even further....

I have some time ago suggested that the 5th place teams would always swap conferences for the following season. This would both make 5th place more interesting (either more desirable or even more hated depending on the current balance between Big 8 and Great 8) and introduce a new mechanism for refreshing the league without affecting the rivalries too severely. I think this type of change could help keep the leagues more competitive (balancing the level of teams between the conferences) than some sort of monetary awards.
