Do non-specialty PR managers affect team performance or just arena attendance? I have a minimal skill level PR manager and wondered if he would hurt my chances of winning a championship this season.

Non specialty PR Managers do not affect team performances. They only affect arena attendance and merchandise and fan survey.
I highly recommend getting a PR manager with the specialty you require for the playoffs. I often hire a level 2 PR manager with crowd involvement right before playoff games where I am the home team, and often switch to a level 2 PR manager with national appeal right before playoff games where I am the away team.

I am doing that for this playoff run! just hired a level 2 PR guy with crowd involment as I will have at least my first two games at home.

If I am on the road for the finals and the finals goes three games, that means firing 3 times in about 1 week lol. Money well spent IF I get the promotion right!

trying everything, been taking it easy, so heading into the playoffs with high enthusiasm and the right PR guy, hopefully that gives me the edge in a close matchup.

any other suggestoins?

I think that the PR specialty is worth about 3 points. So national appeal will lower their score by about3 points, and crowd involvement will increase your score by about 3 points.

I definitely think it is worth it, especially in playoffs.

Make sure to use your enthusiasm strategically in playoffs. So don't just play Playoff Crunch Time every game. Play Playoff Normal in some games if you think you are still a good chance at winning because that enthusiasm boost can prove vital.

Yes, I will be playing playoff normal for the first round, and possibly for the second round too. I have noticed the #2 seed has been TIE for more games than me at the end of the season. I beat him pretty handily at the end of the season, but he added a stud SF since right before the playoffs, so he will definately be much tougher now. In you experience what do you think the most enthusiam a team can have in the second round? The way the games are spaced out is seems like its hard to have enthusiam much higher than 10, but i dont have any experience in this.

So far so good, I have 10 enthusiam, home court advantage and a crowd involement PR staffer. Is there anything else I can do? Most of my guys are either proficient or strong gameshape, maybe one or two respectable. It would be ideal to be able to TIE until the finals, then crunch time it all the way through.

I'd tie during the finals once, too, to make sure you get two PO games during the last week and increase your training.

I'm wondering whether getting a level 5 Crowd-Involvement PR is the same effect with level 2 Crowd-Inv PR in terms of affecting team performance ? ...

Yes it is.

The effect of Specialties in staff does not depend on their level.

We have both said a lot of things that you are going to regret.
