Hello all,

I have two quick questions and I hope you can help me as you already did with few questions from before (thank you for that)

This year I relied mostly on Look Inside. I train PG and SG, so my C and PF didn't receive any training and they start in every league game. How is it possible then that in first half of season my "Inside defense" and "Inside Offense" was mostly inept, while in second half went to mediocre? This was also true if I played 3-2. Is this because I trained Passing?

Second question, my finals. Judging by salary, my opponent would have an edge; but he didn't play scrimmages at all (so probably no training - but if he trained, I have the edge on him) and in next season, my outside players will have more than twice the salary based on popups, so we are even. Since he plays Motion and 3-2 Zone, in first game I play at home I plan LI and 3-2 Zone, while in 2nd game I have two options: play on Normal and lose while gaining Enthusiasm and beat him in 3rd game, or take another risk and play 1-3-1 against his 14k PF. What do you suggest?

Oh and thanks for the asnwers! (and hopefully he doesn't read this)

Passing affects offensive flow.

Maybe your enthusiasm is higher later in the season. Also GS can play a role in it as well.

3-2 is a outside defence that will increase OD but you will lose ID and rebounding. So Outside defence in your match ratings will be higher then if you go M2M (if enthusiasm and GS are the same). ID and rebounding will be lower.

For your match in finals if you are confident that you can beat him in game 3 i say go PO normal. Only reason is for extra money as you will play another game so you get attendence.

If matchups are even and you think it will be a tough game then go for win game 2.

I wouldn't suggest 1-3-1 as it gives up too much rebounding and ID. If they go motion and 3-2 your tactics would best be a M2M and LI or Low Post. Nothing fancy or inventive. The reason for M2M is because motion takes mid-range shots. 3-2 covers the perimeter so sometimes when they guards shot your big men will have to guard the shot.

Also a PF can be a key to make the motion work. You need good passing and a good shooting team. JS and JR are vital in this tactic. So if you go M2M get a good Outside Defender on their best shooter. If you decide to go 3-2 you better have good OD on all players (expect maybe C).

And there was luck indeed! Yay! Thanks for helpful advices. I was a bit worried because his best men are PF and C and to play Look inside against them...at the end it worked. My outside men are also proficient in driving, so they exploited that. My C has Respectable passing and that also went good. His outside defense was Inept with 3-2...makes me wonder if I should play Push the Ball in 2nd game. What do you think?

EDIT: Oh, and about better ID and IS game ratings...my friend reminded me that my outside players improved a lot in driving, so does this count as an Inside Shot? And I didn't think about Game Shape, thanks.

one on one improves inside shooting too, so yes, even if driving didn't improve the inside offense rating (not sure about that), this would increase the inside offense. Enthusiasm plays a role in defensive ratings and rebounds, too, so that could account for the jumo in the inside defense and rebounding ratings.
