Imagine Lebron, Kobe, Melo, Durant. Now can you imagine no teams in the NBA wanting them? This is the absurd current situation in BB because the salaries of the top players are just way too high.

Anyone can search the TL themselves and see that it is true, but lets take a concrete example. To protect the innocent I shall rename him as Bob.

Bob (0000001) Center
Owner: secret
Weekly salary: $ 379 110
DMI: 1332500
Age: 26
Height: 7'0" / 213 cm
Potential: hall of famer
Game Shape: respectable

This player is on someone's national team.

He has more than one legendary skill. Sounds like a player any team would love to have. Surely. Well it makes sense that bottom division teams cannot afford to have players like this on their rosters, but what about top teams? Nope, not a chance. Just check the rosters of the top teams in leagues and you wont find anyone like Bob, the top managers know that they simply aren't worth it.

But surely he is still worth a fortune?

There have been 10 recent transfers of 25-26 year old centers with phenomenal-legendary inside defense and hall of famer-all-time great potential. Of these, the ones with skills most similar to Bob have been selling for around $ 950 000 to $ 1 250 000.

So in other words, players with much lower skill levels are worth a lot more. How does this make any sense? Somehow the salary formula gets out of kilter and puts the wages of these monsters up way too high. If players like this had much lower wages then they would be affordable.

Two solutions,

1) change the salary formula to make these guys more practical - if Bob was asking about half his current wage he would be in great demand.
or
2) a hard salary cap. Using some mathematical formula based on the top leagues in the world Espania, Hellas, USA etc, work out how much a top team can afford to pay its star player, then make it a cutoff for ALL players. This would vary season by season but no player would go over this cap. Note this doesn't affect their potential, they can still be improved, but no player would ask for more than that.

Lets look at the NBBA finals going on right now. They would have Kobe or Lebron right? Wrong!
Heathens top salary Simeón Villegas (4577356) Point Guard Weekly salary: $ 128 680
Lake Merritt Arrows top salary Fernando Garay (4568852) Center Weekly salary: $ 147 223
What about the next two top teams from the semi-finals?
Burlington Mountain Goats Raúl Villapadierna (8010023) Center Weekly salary: $ 202 315
King Drive Ballers (no 4 team in the WORLD!) top salary Adolfo Veleña (6711691) Center Weekly salary: $ 228 449

So if the most expensive player in the top 4 NBBA teams is $ 228 449 then something is obviously wrong. Shouldn't the best players be in the best leagues? Shouldn't their wages be affordable? If there was a HARD salary cap at around $200,000 to $250,000 perhaps some of these "best players in the world" would actually be able to find a home rather than being unwanted rejects that no team really wants to keep.

- NT coach (often good managers from top division) are wrong about their talents.

which will make their salarys even more ridiculous ;)

But when the top slalry players stay betwenn 400 and 500k salary, there is use for themin the top divisions.

There is already a similar suggestion in this forums, why didn't you use the search function? And you were the guy telling others to use their brains, lolcat.jpg...

Awesome I have a stalker. That is fantastic, are you just going to follow me around every post and make no useful comment at all just hurl abuse? That will be something to look forward to.

The problem with the search function as you may have known if YOU ever used your brain is that it is a supporter feature and I was without it for a couple of days. When I started thinking about this so I had a quick look (ok I admit I didn't try to trawl through dozens of pages of suggestions by hand) and didn't see anything. I will do a search now that I am a supporter as I would like to see what others have said, on the assumption that unlike you, they actually have something positive on the topic to say.

I do think this is a bad supporter feature because it does prevent people from "using their brains." That could be a different suggestion.

And if the other thread does indeed contain a "similar suggestion" suggesting establishing a hard salary cap for the most expensive players based on the financial arrangements of the top teams in the world then I am sorry my supporter ran out and I deserve this abuse.

Oh, and an off topic comment, I think your banner and logo look fantastic.

This is always the most ironic comment,

"He has been bad trained".

and people will say that is why that particular player isn't good enough for any top team, even though they are good enough for national teams. The other irony is why aren't there ANY players with this sort of salary that are trained properly and in the NBBA?

Two possibility:
- NT coach (often good managers from top division) are wrong about their talents.
- Problem in salary.

Yes, apparently EVERY national coach is wrong.
Or there is a problem in salary.

Thanks for your excellent contribution to this discussion.

And yet you are in the top league in Germany one of the strongest BB nations in the world and what is your top salary?

Ferda Alabora (4599003) Center Weekly salary: $ 156 138

You could buy Bob for less than a million, so why don't you? Because you know, like all the other top managers that he simply isn't worth his massive wage. So you say no to Kobe becuase you already have Bynum and Fisher and that is much better.

because i don't have a million, and i won't buy such players in the off season, and i have the 4th cheapest rooster during the season and after the make over before the play off my paybill even shrinks again ;)

But we have and had some of those 400k centers in our league.

PS: the next point is, that Ferda is a cult figure in my rooster and deserved a starting spot for life and through his multiskills he isn't that bad.

Edit: i believe a team from my league selled Bob after one season with him, after loosing the PO. Another team have a 410k spanisch NT center in his roster, finished third in my divs but beats Laim away in the finals and he have bought the monster not instantly before the Po he bough him around ASD(and i don't think he is a shortime investment)

Then we also have a 330k italian NT center, in our league who played the full season ;) So i think you could use them, even when i don't expect to get very expensiv when you are buying them but i payed 7 mio for maybe the perfect club "PF", when i buy instead a 400k center for 1,5 Mio who get 250k more salary each week it takes a while before my way is the cheaper(and don't forget that my player lose a lot of value when he gets older^^), and the performance wouldn't be weaker even at PF. This is a possibility for just promoted team, to get competive because nowaday the just promoted teams are mostly the next demoted teams because the step betwen first and second league is big.

Kudos to moutlinho (70514), he made a great job!

I have no plans to stalk you but I think if I deserved to get a rude comment from you, than I could as well return the favor as soon as possible.
