well season 13 is almost over and as far as training goes it is over so this is an excellent time to gather some data about how various peeps went with their training this season

my data will be more useful than last time as i have trained two positions every single week this season and with one or two exceptions i think my top 4 guys have gotten 48+ minutes every week so here is my fairly good data
Xie Guanzheng 23 6'2" 8 pops (all weeks 48+)
Radosław Rymer 22 6'5" 6 pops (all weeks 48+)
Barlas Karahan 21 6'2" 9 pops (last week had to play SF for the semifinals and finals G1 so 0 mins training, every other week48+)
Silvano Gardinazzi 20 6'2" 8 pops (I think he was short of minutes once)

the most interesting thing for me is that even though these guys are much older than typical trainees they have done quite well

obviously there can be sublevels involved but 4 guys aged 20+ still averaging nearly 8 pops in two position training is good news for my star players

so how many pops did everyone else get this season? we need age, height, 1 or 2 position training and no of pops please

I have an 18 year old Hall of Fame rookie Point Guard. I concentrated on him all season and still only got 10 pops. Seems like sometimes the trainer doesn't really care about the potential of the player. The other PG is a 19 year old with 'starter' potential. He got 9 pops while riding the coattails.

Potential doesn't affect training speed.

Good call on this post, an excellent idea.

i too did mostly two position training all year, with the exception of some Free throw and stamina training. I excluded FT and ST pops in the results below. Also, assume players got 48 mins. Most of the time they did, with some exceptions, which im not going to try and trawl through and find.

P1 23 6'11" 4 pops (8 weeks)
P2 21 6'11" 2 pops (4 weeks)
P3 19 6'8" 6 pops (9 weeks)
P4 19 6'8" 4 pops (8 weeks)
P5 19 6'3" 3 pops (6 weeks)
P6 19 6'1" 6 pops (6 weeks)
P7 23 6'10" 3 pops (5 weeks)
P8 21 6'0" 4 pops (6 weeks)
P9 23 6'4" 1 pop (7 weeks) .... doh! This guy is superstar potential as well. and only $6k salary, so not quite sure about what happened with him.

Ive only included the major players i trained ,some other players got some training and some pops, not worth mentioning.
Total number of pops all season, including FT and stamina = 50 pops.... nice.

I think next season I will be doing a mixture of 2 position and 1 position training, dependant upon my draft picks and a few other factors. But otherwise i found 2 position training to be quite good! i really don't know what happened with my last player though, he has quite a balance of skills but i still would have expected him to pop more than once! meh. go figure.

looks good but the only thing i cant understand is why no-one got more than 9 weeks

surely you have 1 or 2 stars that you focus on 100% of the time

seeing as you have excluded ft and stam (which I included) that may account for 1 or 2 weeks but not 5 missing weeks

The training gods have been pretty good to me this season:

Age: 18
Height: 6'3" / 190 cm
Potential: superstar

15 pops so far with a good chance at 16 and maybe 17 after this training week. 1 position, level 5 trainer with a mix of guard skill training.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Age: 18
Height: 6'0" / 183 cm
Potential: MVP

11 pops so far with a good chance of 1 more this friday as well. Same scenario as the trainee above.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Age: 19
Height: 6'5" / 196 cm
Potential: hall of famer

6 pops in the last 4-5 weeks. My 3rd trainee was brought in only a few weeks ago as a short PF with real good inside skills now getting the guard skills up.

yes i have to admit, my training regime is not perfect. This was my first full season where i had a rough idea about what Ii was doing with my players and training....
But also, i think with the way i was training the players and specifically, WHAT i was training
eg: if my PF who is my star player, has 'respectable' handling, and im training handling that week, but my guards, starting centre, backup PF and another player have, what i would consider 'not acceptable' levels of handling, I would train them in the two position training for the week, not the star PF.
So there were instances of situations like that all throughout the season.
it does beg the question, why not train your star 19 year old PF in handling regardless? .... and i guess that is just my choice in how i train him. I would rather train a guard player up in handling, that a PF who already has, what i feel to be a good level of handling.
but thats just an example im giving! I cant really remember my justification for the choices i made 10 weeks ago!
