I know this thread is probably up in somewhere , but i just couldnt find it in this help section after a 15 minute search and i wouldnt want to waste more time, so can you guys help me?
It is finals game 3 and my opponent uses run'n'gun 3-2 zone always. I won our first game, beacuse he lost on purpose to get up his enthusiasm and get better shapes for game 2 etc. And he won the second game , even though i used 3-2 zone Look inside tactics. Although I went TIE, I am still fairly concerned , what to do now.. His guards , especially SG, are stronger than mine, and my 3-2 zone didnt seem to work ... I have been thinking about 1-3-1 zone, but in this case i shouldnt play my PF , who has the best IS , but also no Outside defence. My PF and C are the best players I have, so i'm in front of a dilemma.
Also I have been wondering , if I should use Push the ball instead, beacuse my guard and SF have fairly good JS too, slightly lower than IS of my PF and C

Here are my starting five:

C :

DMI: 305600
Height: 7'0" / 213 cm
Game Shape: proficient

Jump Shot: average Jump Range: awful
Outside Def.: atrocious Handling: pitiful
Driving: awful Passing: average
Inside Shot: prolific Inside Def.: tremendous
Rebounding: proficient Shot Blocking: strong
Stamina: respectable Free Throw: respectable

PF:
DMI: 234600

Game Shape: strong

Jump Shot: average Jump Range: mediocre
Outside Def.: atrocious Handling: strong
Driving: strong Passing: pitiful
Inside Shot: sensational Inside Def.: prolific
Rebounding: prominent Shot Blocking: strong
Stamina: proficient Free Throw: atrocious

SF:
DMI: 149500
Game Shape: proficient

Jump Shot: wondrous Jump Range: inept
Outside Def.: proficient Handling: strong
Driving: sensational Passing: respectable
Inside Shot: respectable Inside Def.: strong
Rebounding: inept Shot Blocking: inept
Stamina: mediocre Free Throw: respectable

SG:
DMI: 134100
Game Shape: proficient

Jump Shot: prominent Jump Range: prominent
Outside Def.: prominent Handling: strong
Driving: average Passing: strong
Inside Shot: average Inside Def.: awful
Rebounding: pitiful Shot Blocking: atrocious
Stamina: average Free Throw: prominent

PG:
DMI: 137900
Game Shape: proficient

Jump Shot: prolific Jump Range: respectable
Outside Def.: strong Handling: prominent
Driving: proficient Passing: proficient
Inside Shot: average Inside Def.: awful
Rebounding: average Shot Blocking: pitiful
Stamina: average Free Throw: strong

If I'd take 1-3-1 then my PF wouldnt start, SF would shift to PF , PG to SF and I would play at the point this guy:

Point Guard

DMI: 118100
Game Shape: strong

Jump Shot: prominent Jump Range: mediocre
Outside Def.: prominent Handling: prolific
Driving: prolific Passing: proficient
Inside Shot: mediocre Inside Def.: awful
Rebounding: mediocre Shot Blocking: atrocious
Stamina: mediocre Free Throw: pitiful

In this case my offence would be Push the ball , no doubt about that.

So give me your thoughts

if it were real life, I would just go ahead and play 2-3 zone, let him take the three pointers, but deny the inside scoring. Also, if he uses 3-2 zone, he probably doesn't care much for rebounding, so you should put your better rebounders on the floor. You should not go with 1-3-1 zone, in my opinion, only if you used it before. Why not play princeton? with your SF in PF position. You got good passing, decent jumpshot. Just my opinion All the best

well if you have good passing, which you do, it will lead to more lay ups, because it is an offense based on cuts.

Also, I analysed my opponent , i noticed, he hasnt lost a game thsi season, when he plays against 3-2 zone, his scorers are too good

idk about that, its a bit risky , because I have never tried it, and if opponents df is good enough then my bad JR will kill me, if my team starts shooting 3's

Thank you, I played for the safe card, man to man and push the ball works in most of the situations, plus i thought that my team would take more jump shots and less threes with ptb or base offence than with princeton.. And my opponent went on to use a completely different strat, ptb and pressure, which was the deciding factor.. To my luck, the buzzerbeater's filosophy - pressure defence is a desperation tactic and doesnt work in most cases- worked this time too, although i had so many turnovers and what was even more wierd, opponent's center had 6 steals:O..Now we'll see if i can survive in the higher league
