This is unofficial right now but could develop with sufficient interest.

I've been discussing the possibility of a prediction contest similar to that of the World Cup - I will select a minimum of 3 games each round and give a brief overview and my take on the game. We will decide if/how to make this more official with potential prizes over the coming days.

Stand out Fixture

Nitra Corgons at eisen Superfly's Prediction 71-93

It simply doesn't get any bigger than this. Within the first 2 rounds of last season, this was my forecast for last seasons final and for both teams it's an unfortunate draw.
However, with home court advantage (HCA - wolph :D) last seasons champions will have to invest to avoid becoming the first holder of the competition to fall at the first hurdle of their defence.

eisen stormed arguably one of the strongest Private Leagues ever contested http://www.buzzerbeater.com/community/pl/6200/overview.as... and they are my pick again for this match and the entire tournament.

Prediction Choices (5 points for correct prediction)

a) eisen to win by 26+,
b) eisen to win by 17-25
c) eisen to win by 9-16
d) eisen to win by 1-8
e) overtime and you win on any outcome
f) any win by Corgons!

Other 1st Round worthy mentions!

Pehmeät Tyttö Norsut at C.S Larrañaga Prediction 84-88

I think LA-Naicou might go shopping ahead of this one but I again think that HCA for GM-Gonza8 will be the deciding factor again... just! With continued HCA and decent draw I expect Larrañaga to stick around to the later stages of this competition.

a) Larrañaga to win by 5-15
b) either team to win by 4 or under
c) Norsut to win by 5-15
d) any other outcome!

Sharman Globetrotters at Naughty Girl Prediction 83-87

Fans attending the Palace of the Naughty Girl haven't seen their team at full strength lose at home for a while. With a GS reset and having to travel to a team that will enjoy just 1 daily update to my 2 after the 2nd round of domestic action, I am not looking forward to this one!

a) Naughty to win by 1-13
b) Nice to sneak it by 1-13
c) Both teams to play Look Inside / Low Post
d) Either team to win by 14+

Depending on what might be possible, I was thinking of adding a bonus for predicting all of the highlighted games correct. A bonus for predicting how many away teams win in each round and a bonus for the lowest ranked team predicted to lose as well.

Feedback welcome - watch this space for developments!

Man this is the way i didnt want to go. I saw myself at final 16 or 8 this season but i clearly have no chance to win it away as higher seeded team.. At least i can finish my rebuilding and save some money this season. Wait for me, in season 15 i am back climbing high..

I think for eisen it's magnificent draw. Better to face such a team now with HCA than later on road or neutral court.

Mind if I ask why not take a shot at it this week before rebuilding? I'm not trying to criticize the strategy, but rather as a game designer, I'm trying to understand how managers end up making these decisions.

I would say because HCA is so strong.

When you have evenly matched teams in a division, the goal is to manage your enthusiasm to win your home games and sacrifice certain away games.

Going into a game as underdog on the road with the knowledge you have at best the same enthusiasm gives you a similar example to the one you gave me yesterday.

The Red Sox owner will spend enough to get Liverpool into the top 4. The outlay he would need to spend in order to get them to 1st is not worth the risk.

Corgons likely have decent players between skill-ups and in an already fragile transfer market he would lose value listing between skill-ups. The money needed to invest to improve his players sufficiently (without guarantee of a result) is simply too much and right now his best chance of winning is to rely on a foul out or injury to a key player.

As that is his most likely route to victory whether he spends money or not, he might as well just see how the game plays out.

Go for it... worse case it stays as we are now and it just grows as a thread or with a bit of luck somebody kind might code it into the news section :D

I have started rebulding process after i have won the B3 and domestic Cup day after. With this move i have secured green weekly net incomes for another season. I have kept 2 older key players with higher salaries though. Those guys are simply good and their replacements wont be as strong as they are at the moment. It is easy - before the game i want to be as strong as possible and after the game i want to be as strong as i need (i actualy dont even need to be strong becose i should have my B3 spot secured anyway as a former winner) so i could save couple milions on salaries.
Its bad luck i have got eisen just becose i train OD now and i think 3weeks of OD training would be enough for my team to play equal game..
