I have a few players that can play both the C/PF, PF/SF, PG/SG etc...

Is there a way to set your bench up to use the swing players ability? In other words, is there a special way the system can know that I want player 'A' to start at PF, but when my starting SF goes to the bench to move player 'A' from PF to SF and bring in a PF off the bench (rather than a worse SF off the bench). Is it possible to do something this this?

example:

Starters -- Backups -- Reserves
PG1 -- SG1 -- PG2
SG1 -- PG1 -- SG2
SF1 -- PF1 -- SF2
PF1 -- PF2 -- C2
C1 -- C2 -- PF1

This means for your PF position that if SF1 wants to go to the bench. PF1 will move into his position on the court and PF2 will come out and play in the PF position.

Thank you. I have it set up something similar to this but not exactly. I'll go back and look at my depth chart.

Again, I just signed up yesterday, so I havn't even played a game yet. But I have the coach to follow my depth chart until 4th quarter. Would it be more beneficial to tell the coach to strictly follow the depth chart? What seems most popular thusfar?

I was up six until the coach took over in my first game, and got blown out 32-11 in the fourth quarter. My coach may never call the shots again ;-) I'll probably let him do his thing in scrimmages until I know how he thinks

Mostly people use Coach Decides Now because it allows your backups to play some minutes when your starters are tired.

Strictly Follow, as much as I think it is TOO strict means that yours starters will probably play the entire game. This is good for training and bad for game result.

I still think it is ridiculously strict but I am outweighed by the people who have decent starters AND backups because they get minutes.

It's important to note that I don't think the game engine switches the position of a player while he is in the court.

I believe the only way a player will play in a different position than the one he started in is if he sits in the bench first.

Anyway, the hint about the lineup given by JudgeNik shows you how to do that.
