Wow, interesting first set of games. I have never seen so many injuries across the league. Luckily, most of them were just in-game injuries...

Big8
Medellin crushed the Marauders - no real surprise there given the string and wire holding together Myopic's team.

Reston rolled over Silverbacks - higher enthusiasm helped, plus my early injury gave the coach a chance to play better players in that spot and pump up the inside offense.

Red Fort had a nice win against home court and higher enthusiasm ATL. ATL will have to find an answer for the guard-focused teams in the league.

East Siders pulled out a home win vs. TWSS - it came down to the wire, but ES pulled it out and held at home. Not a bad start for a promotee.

Great 8
Ginger Balls put up a typically strong effort with higher enthusiasm over Scrap Heap for an early TV game win.

Petersburg had a deceptive win as the match was much closer than the final score and seemed to turn on the Holm injury.

Mapleton probably had the biggest impact win of the day over Phi. Recent pickup Nobre dominated the court with 28 pts and 17 rebounds and gave another promotee a big win.

Finally, Rocket Science handed Digging a loss. Another close game compounded by Digging's recent guard clearance sale.
So, a third promotee wins their first match.

Always fun when my C gets injured 3 minutes into the game and Billingsley, who averaged 1.0 fouls/game last season, fouls out in 29 minutes. This game is just killing me lately.

I will admit to being a little shocked that i pulled that game out. The 2 new additions definitely showed up and played a great game. I'll be stoked when i get my other 2 guards healthy so i can see what my team can really do. Good start to the season though.

I only got one question - can you clarify what you mean by higher enthusiasm? Everyone was at 5 for the first game. So, no way Ginger had higher Enth. Did you mean they put more effort into the game? Because that was true.

Right, everyone was at 5 but a couple of us played at a higher level of effort. After several CTs last year, I know the feeling of sitting on the opposite side of a higher effort team...

TWSS probably had the most critical injury, but the Chunks had a pretty significant effect as well.

Ardain - thank you for the nice recap - makes the game so much more interesting.

Is it just me or were there just too many injuries and missed free-throws across the board? BB players not bothering to keep in shape over the off-season?

Can I also say that the cap on arena revenue here is so much higher than in D.III. I don't think the gap was quite as big from D.IV to D.III.

I 2nd the motion for Ardain as chronicler. On the note about arena revenue, im curious to see what happens when i lose a couple games. Especially my next one to petersburg. Damn it was an unlucky rival draw for me haha. Maybe you guys could give me some insight on that... if your fan survey is way high does it change it by quite a bit or if (when) i lose to petersburg and maybe some other league games can i still expect to sell out my arena?
