I want to train inside shot for my 5'10 guy soon. The reason being is that he already has a solid SF build (respectable ID, average RB).. right now he's at pitiful inside shot ...he is 19 years old
what i'm curious is the speed he would train at. does anyone have any experience training a 5'10 player in inside defense ?

I would think that it would be more efficient to train him to become a guard (especially since he is already a PG). Also, your 4 youngest players are PG/SG so it would fit into your training better if you trained him as a guard. Respectable ID and average RB arent good enough for a SF, so you would have to train them, but it would be inefficient because of his height. On the other hand, you can't really ask for a better height to train guard skills with.

Your lucky to have a 5'10'' player. I wouldn't waste time on IS though, since he is at the height where it would take forever to train big man skills, but very very quickly in training passing, and OD.

thanks for the replies. you are both right, i'm not likely to waste spending time on IS, but i am just curious if anyone had experience in training a 5'10 player in IS and what rate he trained at. i'd imagine it would be very slow.

Very slow. With a 5'10 trainee you should not make him into a SF. make him into an amazing gaurd.

maybe you could give 1 vs 1 train for forwards a try, at least my 1.83 guys get some fast pops there and if not you still trained something useful for him ;)
