well well well.

first off, congratz to Joe for winning the U21 election.

we've arrived in season 14. and that means, a new tournament for the belgian NT. we'll be playing in the consolation tournament, and by the looks of it, we've got a horrible first opponent in Germany, and an away game that could turn out to be more tricky than expected.

i'd be happy to come away with one win out of the first 2 games while having a positive points difference.

anyhow, i'll still might call up some players for the game against Germany on monday, but the players who are in the NT team now are certain to be staying in the team for the rest of the consolation tournament.

i'll let Joe inform you about the U21 team and what they will be aiming for, tho, knowing Joe, he'll pull a rabit out of his hat for the U21 team.

Bad start for the NT.
first we lose a close game against Germany (an expect loss tho, but i was hoping for a bitt of luck trying harder than the germans...) but in the end, those germans are just to strong.

and then the second game against UAE, i don't know what happened yet, but the game stats are in our advantage, but our opponent tried harder than us, and my gamble against Germany payed of very bad...

Ow well, let's hope that our other opponents won't be to hard to take on. theoretically, you can lose 2 games and still be sure of making the Knock out stages, but this wasn't exactly the start i was expecting. i'll have to look back at the game against UAE, but i was pretty sure that our inside had their bigs covered.

anyhow, once we know our opponent, we'll be able to select our final 8 players in the NT team, and continue as usual. so all managers, please keep the GS high, cause i will let it have a rather large influence on my decision for the final 8 spots.

this is bad indeed.

I think gambling is to be avoided, especially at the start of tournaments.
It would have been much better to drop Germany and have a sure win on the UAE, because as you said, you can loose a few.

The problem with the situation now is that our direct competitors are able to take advantage of our loss agains UAE to slip right past us. I think you can expect a few crunches along the road now that you wouldn't have had when we would be at 1-1.

but okay. Lesson learned I suppose. ;þ

and my thoughts my be diffrent from other's, so let's hope I'm wrong. ;)

well, today's loss means lights out for the consolation tournament. i'll try and end as high as possible, but winning against the netherlands is not gonna happen unless their players are in no shape at all, and our players would be in super shape.

kinda sucks that i'm damn bussy for the past 3 weeks in RL, and that after this week, things should calm down, but it will be to late by then :(

had to rush off today to umpire a game in the cup all of a sudden in Brussels, and couldn't look at all my players, so in the end, i just decided to check the GS, be sure best GS was set up, and then had to run :(

i'll be happy when this week will be over, then i can finally give the NT the attention that i usually give it.

a few well learned lessons for next time.

another close loss today

i was hoping to avoid it by changing the enthousiasme that we were playing with, but Venezuela did the same. we were their last relatively strong opponent, so they didn't want to take any chances with us...

a very dissapointing 0 out of 4 up till now :(

next week we play pakistan, which should be a win. Also, i'd like to ask the managers of the NT players to take care of their GS. especially in the Centre position.

this week, i had 2 proficients ( Dorchain and Van Gent) one Good (Francaart) and all the other C's were Respectable ( Fleeton, Adriaansens). even in the possible guy's that i'd call up, such as Hendrickx ( GS 7) De Wolf ( GS 5), Ceenaeme ( GS 7) and Hemerijckx ( GS 6) their wasn't one that i could call up because of their low GS.

In SF, i didn't want to call up my own SF ( GS 8) since their wasn't need for him in this game, but the other SF option ( DEaleare) also had GS 7...

Last season, the GS was way better than this season, so i'd like to ask the managers to keep track of the GS of their players.

last season, i had an average of 7.8 players per week who had Proficient in their GS, and the rest almost all had Good (some occasional respectables were their, but they always went back up) this season, i haven't had the same GS at all, even worse, alot of key players ( the starters) seem to be hovering between GS Good and respectable.

So for next week, could everyone who owns a NT player, or a possible NT player, PLEASE take care of the minutes? i'd like to win atleast 3 of the remaining 4 games that we still have left.

ps: after this campaigne will be over, i'll explain to everyone which enthousiasme was selected and why it was done. these textes will be put in dutch and french on the forum instead of english. That way, you will be able to understand the decision that were made and the reason why they were made.

yeah, it's tough.

there are games you should win, and games you can't win.
it's the close ones you should try to win as much as possible to be succesfull.

Best leave it all behind as soon as possible (except ofcourse the things you have learned) and concentrate on the future

we got some beautiful SF's that are being trained... and i hope that one or both inside SF's will be at a good lvl to select next season. that should help us really. i've been in charge of the guards before i got the NT, and somehow, i managed to convince to keep the people training their guards with the result that an unless your player has OD 17, he ain't making the NT for the guard selection anymore...

but with the C's, the salary goes up way to fast... so the problem their is to find a team that will take the salary of that C...

Joe, we might need to talk about how we can solve that. i got an idea, but i'd like to hear your oppinion on it. i'm not gonna mention it here in the forum, cause it might give away more info than that we'd like to for our futur U21/NT
