The heavy fouling can be irritating. Guys that play their entire career as low foulers all of a sudden start blowing up on the fouls. I have been lucky - my pickups are all significantly lower foulers than their predecessors. However, it is a crap shoot it seems...
This weeks games had some interesting results:
Myopic gave me a gift, the gift that keeps giving: point differential. After my travesty of a game on Tuesday against TWSS, it was heartily appreciated. Next up: Red Fort
East continued to roll in Div II, with a solid win over Red Fort. Markos put up 50 pts to open up a huge 10pts/game lead in the scoring race.
Silverbacks and Medellin put together an outside focused shoot-out. A triple double by Polt led the way for the Silverbacks.
TWSS cruised over the ATL hawks. It was close at halftime, then TWSS put it away in the second half.
Digging put up a strong effort defensively with his new guards starting to mesh with the team. However, Mapleton kept it close with their outside attack and Digging put up a higher level of effort.
Biggest shock was Ginger vs. Petersburg. Petersburg's CT vs. TIE loss is hard, especially since these two have been at the top of the Great 8 standings for some time. Jiao Wee Swee sets the MVP pace with a solid game and 17.0 rating.
Scrap vs. Chunks was an ugly mess under investigation by the commissioner. 5 to 26 in fouls, Waeber 10 for 10 on the charity stripe, and a 74-53 rebounding advantage for the Scrappers led them to the win.
Rockets had a clear win over Phi - perhaps due to Phi's focus on Ginger in Game Two last week. Carbon had a great game, finally finishing his first game in this league with only five fouls after blowing up in the first two - congrats Roberto!
Cup Status: Everyone is still in it so far...
