As a different write up this season, teh team of me, Dire and C-Cat will be doing weekly updates of the current top 10 players in the league for the season. This takes into account stats, team performance and games played.

This is meant to to promote discussion, so thought, comments, rants, etc are welcome!

So here we go:

#1 Tuan Le (HP) - 34.5 points, 9.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.7 stls, 51% FG%

While HP has only won 2 games so far this season, Le has been to good to ignore, his 50 points against the Giants being a standout.

#2 Plino Couto Costa (Pan) - 26.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 54% FG

Plino doesn't do much but score, but there are few better at it than him in the league. Plino has scored 20+ points every game, and been on fire from beyond the arc with a 60% 3pt%.

#3 Ziedonis Kapricas (BPS)
- 13.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 7.7 assists

Zapricas hasn't scored much, but his playmaking abilities have been top notch, averaging 7.7 assists (leading the league) and no turnovers.

#4 wlodzimierz Staszak (BLS) - 19.5 points, 15.2 rebounds, 2 blocks, 60% FG%

Despite often being in foul trouble, Staszak has become BLS's most important player, and a major reason why they are undefeated. His 26 points and 19 boards against Phoenix was a highlight.

#5 Miguel Pinongan (BHB) - 20 points, 7 assists, 3.5 rebounds

Pinongan has been the playmaking force for the Boy's this season, behind only Kapricas in assists, and chipping in with some consistent scoring as well to help the Boy's into playoff contention.

#6 Sui Haili (CC) - 26.7 points, 3.2 assists, 2.7 rebounds, 1.7 steals, 56% FG%

Like always, Haili is near the league leaders in points, scoring at a high efficiency. Haili's 44 points against HP was his best performance, and he is clearly the leader of the #2 team in the great 8.

#7 Donats Lopins (BAX) - 30 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, 53% FG

Lopins has been outstanding this season, coming second in the scoring race and leading the league in steals. However, Baxter's current league standing knocks him down some places.

#8 Rudolph Radford (PHX) - 27 points, 21 rebounds, 57% FG

Radford has been imense this season, his 38 points and 21 rebounds against teh Bogans being indicative of his season. However his 9 TOs and a Phoenix loss in that game have also been indicative of his season, which drops him down the order.

#9 Francesco Pettito (BLS) - 18.2 points, 6.2 assists, 4.7 rebounds, 2 steals

Pettito has been solid all round this season, and while he has not had a standout game, his consistency is a big factor in the society's start to the season.

#10 Les Gafa (Wom)
- 23.7 points, 2.5 assists, 50% FG

Gafa has been just a scorer this season, but his scoring efficiency has been top notch, averaging 50% from both the field and three point land, and has led the Wombats to a 3-1 start.

Nice start boys. Interesting that Pinnogan made it - he's probably only at 3rd or 4th on my own team in terms of performance - that said he's played well thus far. Couto, Haili and Radford are guys i'm always worries about when i play them. Reyes and Stannard always seem to give me hell against Snuffies as well but they didn't make the grade.

20/7/3 stats are only the 3rd or 4th best on your team? Pfft! :P

Things will even out a bit as the season progresses i imagine. I expect my boy Pettito to drop off the list for example. He's had a blinder start to the season but i don't see him performing at that level for the whole season and most people will move up and down a bit.

We've tried to make this a bit like the Race to the MVP articles that go every week on nba.com and espn so wins are a factor as well which is probably why the Snuffies boys haven't made it yet with them sitting 1-4. Still, it's our first "Race to the MVP" so i'm sure we'll get better with it all as the season goes on :)

haha his states are probably best over all for the season but from game to game there has always been someone better just as PG weather i play inside or outside offenses he gets some stats.

I think Reyes was injured early on as well so no surprises that he missed out. Just seem that no matter who i play on them they torch me - the probably do bugger all against everyone else as well!

Nice work though - it always makes for a good read.

nice to see Le sitting on top. dont think it will last though, his scoring should drop to about 20, and the no. wins i get may work against him.

Will also be interesting to see if any of the early season MVP favourites get shipped out of the league later in the season.
