Is it possible to get the "BA" (blocked attempts = how often a specific player was blocked) stat added to the boxscore? This would be a pretty interesting info :)

hm. Why would it be interesting? I think it tells more about the players he went up against, then about himself, no?

a horrible player could have 0 shots blocked because he never faced a decent blocker in his face, while a more then average player can get many shots blocked because he played "magic Block Maniac" a lot of times in his carreer...

But then again, this may be true for most other shooting statistics.

In the NBA, BA are useless because they aren't tracked properly. Same goes for BS to a lesser extent.

Both of these are tracked just fine.

You surely meant to say "Nick Van Exel's assist stats were manipulated in home games at one point in time"...

Did you even read what is written on the website I posted the link to?

I thought a GM would know better than post spam in a suggestions thread...

The original Van Exel incident is well-know. That's also the only case for which there is factual evidence. Everything else, as the author himself admits, is allegations with little support.

Now, if any of this is true and as widespread as the guy suggests, it's obviously a problem for a league working assiduously to convince fans it's not some rigged carny game.

I watch 100+ NBA games a season. Maybe some of this stuff was true and common in the days of the players mentioned in the article, but it certainly isn't right now.

So, to your question, yes, I read the article

"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve."

Do you also keep your own stat sheet updated when watching a game ? Believe me some players block shots and they never appear on the stat line.
But at the end of the day it doesn't make a difference and I don't care.
