So lots of new players just signed up and I wanted to make a thread to welcome them and to see if any new users have any questions.

Here are a few resources you should know about:

The Guide to Buzzer Beater and Frequently Asked Questions

(144856.1)
The Guide was compiled by the very knowledgeable RIP, the former coach of the national team. The FAQ list was compiled by someone else and is also very helpful.

This should be your starting point and reading through it or even just skimming it will help you get off to a great start.

The Help Forum
This forum can be pretty hit or miss but if you have a question you will likely get some pretty rapid answers. If you have any questions that aren't covered in the Guide/FAQ then you should ask them over at the Help forum.

The Canada Forum and the National Teams
Managing your team, setting tactics and training players is a lot of fun but what really pushes this game to the next level is the community aspect. The game becomes much more fun if you're active in the community and the best way to do that is to post in your league forum (if you can get other users to do the same) and the Canada forum and following the National Team and the under 21 National team.

Our u21 team went all the way to the World Championships last season and this season the full national team is undefeated. The teams are selected by elected coaches and if you train players well you might get the chance to see one of your guys suit up for the national team. Both coaches are very helpful and you can learn a lot about advanced training and in game tactics by following the team. Most of the skills of NT and u21 players are posted on an off-site forum we maintain to prevent other NTs from scouting our team. You can sign up for it here: http://bbcanada.forumotion.com/. The forum is also a great place to ask for advice on training your prospects and there is a lot of very in depth tactical discussions where you learn how more experienced managers think about and prepare for matches. So even if you don't have an interest in training a NT player, you can still learn a ton and contribute a lot about tactics.

Mentors

In the past we had a very active mentorship program where new players are paired with more experienced managers so you have a specific person who can help you learn the ropes. We are hoping to get it back up and running this season but if you feel like you might benefit from some one on one mentorship feel free to post in the Mentor thread (95941.1) and we can pair you up with someone willing to help out. This game is a lot of fun but it can be a bit daunting at first, just remember: we've all been there and most of us are more than willing to help out.

I would be more than happy to help a few new players out, so feel free to contact me about mentorship. In the past I have had some great people help me out along the way. I credit alot of my success to those how share there time and knowledge with me. Thanks for the great post Chris!!

Mentors!!

We can update a list here of people looking for mentors and then find a decent match for them.

C'est beau.

Like previously mentioned, this game has an overwhelming feel to it when you first sign up. It's really simple once you get the hang of it. You can put in as little or as much time as you want and succeed. It's free. The supporter feature doesn't provide any in-game benefit.

This game really amuses me.

If you need any help just BBMail one of us or post in the mentor thread or in the help section of the forums.

Hi everyone,

I'm a total noob, but I'm really into this basketball league so far. If I could contact some of you when I have a question that I can't find the answer to, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,
The Colonel

Feel free to send me a BB-mail if you need some help. I should be able to find an answer for you, or at least direct you to someone who will know the answer.

hey, I'm coming to this game from a game called hattrick. It has 12 times the users as bb, so perhaps you've heard of it I got tired of only having one league match a week, so i decided to give this a try.

Anyway, something on my homepage said I need to do a bunch of tasks as a part of somethingsomethingsomething, and one of those tasks was posting in the forum, so here it is
