this is a thread for talking about the Player roles and what you think about them btw do they effect Expierence gain? also whats the highest role? the highest ive seen is regular Starter

I hope/think it's just for show and it doesn't affect player performance.

I think so too but... I am wondering if they effect the experience of that Player i.e would a Regular Starter gain more experience than a "draws a paycheck" ? and if so how much more?

My understanding is that a Regular Starter would get more experience than a Collects a Paycheck only in so much as the Regular Starter is playing more minutes. I don't see any reason to believe that the per minute impact on experience accumulation is different for different roles.

The highest I've seen so far is "Key Player" (6).

My only concerns about it are that it might affect transfer prices and might confuse new players. I do wonder if it might be more useful to put it on the team information page rather than on individual players' pages.

I knew that I had a bunch of money hungry dirt bags. All the do is 'draw a paycheque', time to fire tham all!! ;)

I like it, it is a nice little feature that can only help enhance an alreay awesome game.

I just don't see how this is relevant... I can tell this from minutes per game and if anything, I decided how they play in the first place

unless you're telling me this will now let us visually see how each player's perception by the fans is and how it relates to all-star voting and merchandising

i was hoping BB would roll out more ways to look at stats (ie career stats in 1 page, split stats, etc.), but i guess this will do for now in keeping us intrigued

i want a key player!!!

The only real advantage is that this allows you to sort your players efficiently by placing the most used ones at the top. (Of course, you could do the same thing with jersey numbers)

I could do without them and I'd probably even prefer them gone. They don't personally help me and could easily cause more harm than good if I were to scout this way come playoff time. The nomenclature ranges are broad and don't tell me anything valuable. The "key player" role is generally fine (far from perfect), but everything needs to be refined if this tool is expected to be of any value.
