A live draft room would be fun.

Thumbs up it would be fun. Only problem is that I think it goes along with the offseason processing which the streaming of the computer programming is too comprehensive that it'll be hard to take the draft part out of that code and make a live draft

yahoo uses such a system for its fantasy leagues - if a player is not online during the draft players are selected according to his depth chart (like it is done right now).

I dont see the upside on this suggestion - I imagine this would take a lot of ressources to code and to calculate during the offseason, so delays would be highly probable.

Yeah and it'll give an unfair advantage to those that are able to make the draft per se to select rather than have it automated.

Yahoos one works because when you sign up you decide up front whether you want to go into a automated draft or a live draft. So in this sense, everyone is at a equal standing. People don't go into a live draft if they intend to draft automatically (unless playing with friends) as they will be hugely disadvantaged for doing so

I have done a live draft on ESPN a few times to practice for a fantasy league that I never ended up joining and it is great fun however it works because everyone is online at once and you are making your entire team. Random guys that you know nothing about and who will most likely be sold and sacked within the first week are a lot less exciting.

I was just saying the concept of Yahoo which is prob similar to ESPN (I don't know cause I don't use it) because you can specify before hand how the draft is to be run. No one wants to autodraft their team in an live draft as its plain suicide as the teams able to attend it live have a huge advantage over those that don't.

Besides, you are absolutely correct in saying that most of the players from the BB draft get sacked within a week anyway. So is it really worth BB's time to try implement something like this when most of the rookies get sacked anyway?

Yep, and everyone would always pick the same as now set in the automatic. What would be really nice though and suit BB is that if you could watch the draft a little more slowly, pick by pick although automatic, as the allstar-game 3pt-competition. Would be exciting.

Is there a chance that this would ever happen?
