I have a PG who has been a very good defender. Not much foul trouble. The last 3 games he has fouled out in 13-31 min. Can a player just become foul prone?

No He shouldnt. THE propensity to foul is a hidden stat for the player.
However If you are playing better players, it may be his defense isnt good enough.
