Well, games are over. We lost the semifinals against South Africa. We beated them twice this season, but both of the time we used more effort than them, and the result of the last match was giving a clear indication, already.
We played without our best guard, in a match that we needed to play with an outside offense; and with the same effort, with a lower TS. I was not expecting a win, unfortunately, and my prediction was correct. We discussed a lot in the staff team, but it was clear that with an equal effort SA is still a little better than us.
But let's see the many positive aspect of this season: we reached more or less the same level of Nigeria and South Africa, we are now ranked 43 in the world (when I started to work with Ghana it was 93); we have a backbone for the next season already, and even if we lack punch in all the sectors, I expect good results in the next tournament - obviously we can't compete in the International Tournament, but some nice results will probably come.
6 Ghanian teams are now steadily cooperative with the U21, and this is a great improvement. I hope that the Ghanian level can increase in the National Leagues as well, soon.
I wish to thank my staff first, mainly Zecchin, SteveKarenn, M.Saracen; their work was very important to keep the DB with the player's skills always updated. Obviously, without the big effort of the managers training our young talents we wouldn't have any result; so, a big thanks goes to Cashwinner, Heat274, Tony Daniel, Kima Tores, Jolie87 and Farah Anton in Ghana and Franco Castillo and Master of BB from abroad.
I really wish to see more activity on the forum from the Ghanian coaches, but... well, it's just a desire :-)
