Just wondering whether you guys have had better success making money by buying and selling players or is it always better
to invest in your arena. it just seems to me that an arena takes too long to start paying off.
any thoughts on how i should be splitting my weekly income
i.e. 50% on investing in players 50% investing in the areana

The transfer market is being systematically ruined for seasons, so it is not a good decision to invest in players with the intention to sell them later for a higher price as the market is unpredictable and even if you can grind out a little profit it does not justify the work you have to put in searching and buying suitable players. Buying players to sell them for profit is good if yqu happen to stumble upon them and can make a quick profit.

Stadium revenue is a long-term reliable source of income and is always helpful if you want to plan for a longer timespan.

I agree with the general idea that selling is not what it used to be but I could still argue that the market could be used to your advantage. Just dont rely on it too much. Try to make money from both arena and training/selling.

Try to think about it, investing in arena will give you a permanent seats, when you play long enough you'll probably have alot of extra money unless you wanted to be competitive all the way, therefore you'll built the arena seats eventually, thus, if you have extra money, why not built it now to earn more possible income if your arena seats is limiting your ticket revenue.

Investing in players involve risk, and requires rare chances, one of the chance is you'll need one owner who will have his players to start the auction with a really low price, and then you'll have to consider properly to determine on whether will there be people who is willing to buy the player with higher price(10% more than the price you used to buy the player to offset with the tax you have to pay for selling immediately, the tax will slowly be reduce over time and stop at 3%, 97% selling price), and then you'll need another chance at that time which happen to have totally no other people is there to bid war with you.

By the way, to add in, if you did not manage to sell it off with an appropriate price before every financial update, you'll have to pay the player salary as an expense every financial update, by then the expense for his salary will be more than the profit you expect to earn.
