Hello USA community,

My name is jfarb001 and I am running for USA NT manager. Many of you may already know me from mentoring, the US offsite forum, or if we’ve been in a league together. I hope to get to know many more US managers in the future.

Before I begin I’d like to thank Wozzvt on behalf of the US community for all of the hard work and time he has put into the NT, I don’t know where we would be without him.

I believe I am qualified to be the next USA NT manager for several reasons. Last season I was part of the NT staff, I served as our opposition scout. In this position I became familiar with analyzing personnel and tactics at the NT level. Over the last several seasons I have also become familiar with our own NT players and community, allowing me to understand our current situation and given me many ideas on how we can improve the roster while helping US managers succeed with their club teams. Currently I have begun on a project to identify and train several specialist players that could help shore up some of the weaknesses on our NT roster.

I have had success with my club team as well, going from Div V to the NBBA in 7 seasons.

If elected my goal as NT manager will be the same as it has always been for the USA, to win the World Championship. Last season, Wozz made the correct decision to play to win it all instead of burning up all of our enthusiasm just so we could advance a little further with no hope of bringing home the trophy. This must be our mindset, every decision we make must be with the goal of winning it all.

To win the World Championship we will need to improve the roster, increase the activity of the NT community, and a little luck, but I believe it is possible. We will do this one step at a time, first step is the Americas tournament in Season 15 in order to qualify for the Worlds.

In my opinion, we have one of the best backcourts in the world. Knowing this, to improve the roster we must identify specific needs and find players and managers to achieve these goals. While it would be nice to have a 500k big like many of our opponents have, we must find a way for our managers to train players effectively and affordably. Training wise, I not only want to help our managers with NT prospects train effectively, I want to help them improve their teams and promote. Out of the 16 regular players we had on the roster last season, only 4 of them are owned by US managers; I hope to change this. You can check out some of my ideas on the USA offsite forum, I encourage everyone to sign up and voice your opinions! (http://s3.zetaboards.com/BuzzerBeater_USA_NT/index/)

To increase the activity and interest of the US community in the NT is something I look forward to doing if elected NT manager. Of course I plan on recruiting a large NT staff with defined roles, but anyone who is willing to help, experienced or inexperienced, lower division or upper division, I will find a role for you and some way that you can help the NT. I also plan on having weekly contests where US managers can guess on some questions, such as who will be our leading scorer for the game, who will be our opponents leading scorer, what will the final pt differential, etc. This type of contest is very popular among other countries communities and I hope it will help US managers learn about our players. The “PR” person(s) on our staff will recap the games and reach out to the US community.

Please feel free to ask me any questions in the debate thread or via BB-mail. Thank you!
