I wanted to know if anybody had already tried to play with only 5 players in the roster for a game (in order to make them play 48 minutes), and what happens if one of the player gets injured or expelled. I heard he was replaced by a lucky fan. Can anybody confirm this ?

Sure, I have had several scrimmages with only a few players active on the team. As they foul out, they are replaced by Lucky Fans. Some of the Fans play better than real players.
