So, I'm going to list my favorite songs in this thread.
Why?- for the heck of it, hopefully to introduce some people to some good music, and so people will tell me some new music to listen to.
I'm going to do a 77 song countdown. A couple some days, maybe none on other days, we'll see. Will probably have a short write up with each.

Will probably post the first few later tonight.

77. Imagine- John Lennon:"I may be a dreamer, but I'm not the only one"
Love the accompaniment in this song, and that line there is one of the most iconic around.

76. Pianoman- Billy Joel:"Sing us a song you're the pianoman, sing us a song tonight, well we're all in the mood for a melody and you've got us feeling alright"
Joel shows off his amazing story telling skills in this one and really makes you picture each character.

Hehe, it is the # of songs in my favorites playlist on Itunes.

And it's up there, just not quite #1, many of the others wouldn't make quite as good of usernames.

No time for any new ones tonight, have to go watch my hs team play.:)

75.Come Sail Away- Styx:"I'm sailing away, set an open course for the virgin sea"
Love the first half of this song, after that it gets a little too wierd for my tastes. Still awesome though.

74.Smoke On the Water- Deep Purple:"Smoke on the water, and fire in the sky"
Most famous guitar ever. And the rest ain't too bad either.

73.Absolutely(Story of a Girl)- Nine Days:"This is the story of a girl who cried a river and drowned the whole world"
Can't quite put my finger on what it is I like about this song, I just do.

72.We Are The Champions- Queen:"Cause we are the champions- of the world"
Perhaps the greatest anthem rock song of all time, you hear it everytime somebody wins.

While I don't disagree that Smoke on the Water has some kickin' guitar, Stairway to Heaven would like a word with you for "most famous"

74.Smoke On the Water- Deep Purple:"Smoke on the water, and fire in the sky"
Most famous first riff to learn on the guitar ever. And the rest ain't too bad either.

Fixed.

I got backstage with the band and to an afterparty back in 2001 or so? I was at the concert with a stripper friend of mine. She gets in doors.

This band was also there and backstage. Love it!

Sweet.

71.The Good Life- Three Days Grace:"All I want is a little of the good life, all I need is to have a good time"
A nice simple song that sums up what (pretty much)everybody wants.

70.Don't Stop Believing- Journey:"Just a small town girl living in a lonely world, she took the midnight train going anywhere"
Everybody knows it, and wow can Steve Perry go into his falsetto.

69.More Than A Feeling- Boston:"I lost myself in a familiar song. I closed my eyes and slipped away"
Love how this song starts, I'm never sure which song it is for the first few seconds and then it's like pow Boston.

68.Big Shot- Billy Joel:"You had to have a white hot spotlight, You had to be a bigshot last night"
First time I heard this song performed was actually by my local orchestra and I've loved it ever since, just sounded so sweet with all the strings.

67.Walking Disaster- Sum 41:"A walking disaster, the son of all bastards, you regret you made me, it's too late to save me"
Hmm, no comment.

66.Tears In Heaven- Eric Clapton:"Would you know my name, If I saw you in heaven?"
Clapton is a beast on the guitar, and you can really feel all his emotion in this song.

66.Tears In Heaven- Eric Clapton:"Would you know my name, If you fell out a window?"

If that was you or me we'd have gone to jail for negligence, if it was Clapton he'd sell millions and win Grammys.
