What player skills are involved in this line as seen in games "PlayerA tries a driving layup..."? Is it the driving? Or does it include the player's inside shot? Is it bad to have high driving but low inside shot as seen in most pg/sg players? I am quite confused on this so I appreciate your opinions or maybe some facts lol :) Thanks

This is one of the very controversial aspects of the game. I really don't know whether IS affects driving layups though, but I've seen quite many managers stating that IS is an important skill for driving layups.

I have a SG with high Driving but low IS. Let me just say that he often tries those driving layups, but seldom makes them. Having at least some IS doesn't hurt a Slasher type guard.

but some IS at the SG could really be useful since even if the defender cant defend him even with really high OD without some ID. = draw fouls and score near the rims, I dont know the scores are from post up or slash.
