With these new tactics I got to thinking, a team with four players that were pure defenders with no offensive skills besides passing paired with one offensive beast with decent defense could pose a bug threat. Do you think a team like this could succeed? They would have the defense cheap because the four players would have no offensive skills, and the one beast on the offensive side would be able to overpower any normal defenders in the league... thoughts?

It's a decent Idea I guess, but I don't think it would work. If you had one offensive "beast" he would have to score like 85 PPG in order to give your team chance to succeed. And if you happen to play against a player who is manned up with your star and he has likie Marvelous OD then even your beast would not score much. Just my opinion.

Also if you only have 1 offensive threat teams will just play Box and One on defense. You would probably need at least one outside threat and one inside threat so you can switch between Inside and Outside Isolation to keep the other team guessing.

I am pretty sure it wouldnt work. I would love to be able to pull stats from like 30 different games for each of the new styles, so I could understand the implications better. One offensive powerhouse would be way to predictable. The opponent would only need to have one great defender and then you would be done.

Maybe if the other four were decent three point shooters... You could clear the middle for the 'beast' with driving handling jump shot inside shot and range, but have shooters for him to pass to if he needs help.

Here's an example of what your scenario might look like, my first game. The other team actually has two great players but only one was active for this game. http://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/29560229/boxscore.aspx

Yeah I'm not saying it would be easy, this would be very hard to accomplish and have it work effectively. One of the best teams in my league tried this tactic and ended up squeezing a win out by two points against one of the lowest teams, so I have no intention of trying this out any time soon
