So 3 teams in my division, 2 in my leage have just gone bot.

These 3 teams would have last logged on, around middle of December, which is about 3-4 games out from the previous seasons finals. Yet these teams either won, or finished high enough to get promoted, yet they didnt even log on to see how their team went in finals, if they even won, if they got promoted. It means they havent even LOOKED at the new division, and how their team fairs.

So whilst i dont have a concrete solution, i want to suggest a way to stop teams from going bot so early in the season. I realise its pretty much impossible to sort a team out once they have been promoted, but perhaps their could be some kind of mail, or verification check, to make sure that a team who qualifies for promotion, is actually going to play the next season.

So yer, maybe, an email to the user's registered email, and if they dont respond from last game of last season, until first game of new season, they dont get promoted?
Suggestion might need some modification... but im open to any ideas to help stop this.

i am not sure if it already the case, that you got an email before they change the status of the team to a bot - but if not i find it good when it get introduced independent from the time in the season.

And bots get replaced during the season anyway - often with another team that goes bot right away but sometimes with a team that will kick butt right from the start.

yar i know bots arent that bad, and in fact, are better for me and my team, because i can just kick their butt in games.

Just kinda takes the fun out of it. Im in division III, and have never seen a bot team get replaced mid-season but a real player? that would only happen in Div IV i would have thought?

anyways i realise its a hard one to solve. maybe the current policy is the best, and the chances of this happening will be less likely as I advance up the divisions.

I know at least four teams that started their BB career in division III so it does happen. I have not heard of a division I or II bot team being replaced by a human, that would be a masive advantage for that new player. One of the guys I know joined up in division III in the last week of the season I think, got relegated (because it was too late to buy players) and that was his division III career.

I think the current system is fine. This is a game all about human vs human, if you want human vs computer there are loads of other basketball manager games that no-one plays.
