By guard oriented do you mean you're playing a 3rd guard at SF or just that you want to run the offense through your two guards? In either case, you should want an outside-oriented offense (R&G, Motion,...). If you have a big offensive weapon, it may be a good opportunity to try the new "outside isolation" offense.

As for defense, it really depends on your players' defensive skills and on your opponents. 3-2 zone tends to put more pressure on the perimeter, generate some turnovers, etc, but that's very general and vague.

your offence / def should always take into consideration

1) your strengths (your guards as you mentioned)
2) your opponents weaknesses /strengths

Then cater your offence / defence accordingly

check out his games... and the ratings

Super Simplified Example

If he's got a strong Outside Shooting rating... you might want to play 3 - 2
If his team is balanced... then base your defence either on man to man if you feel your players are more or less as strong...

If your opponent tends to play the same tactic over and over again... try using a counter for it..

Super Simplified Example

He plays 2 - 3 ... go motion / RNG
He plays 3 - 2 ... go LP / LI (tho some people will debate that its not that big an advantage if his OD is high enough)
