Hi

I would suggest that before you do anything like buying and selling, etc that you give the guide and FAQ a read:

a few things right away

1) read the guide and some forum topics
2) get a couple young players / start investing in the draft to get a couple young players to single position train
3) put your money into your arena so you can buy worthwhile players in a bit

After a cursory glance at your roster, it doesn't look like you have anyone worth training for the long hall.

Ideally you want to start training a person at the age of 18 and usually no later than 19. There are reasons to train an older player, but beginning training at 18 or 19 is probably a decent rule of thumb. Also, if you plan to train guards, you will want to aim for a 'all-star' level of potential. You will need a somewhat higher potential if you plan to train a center or power forward. The level of potential a player has effect how high their salary can go. The more a player is trained, the higher their salary becomes. Also the height of a player will affect their trainer. You want shorter persons if you plan to train guards and taller persons if you plan to train centers or power forwards.

Acquiring better players is usually a solid choice, assuming you can afford the better players. If you bid on players, you will want to aim for the low end of their suggested transfer price. If they do not have a suggested price, you may want to wait on purchasing the player until you learn more about what skills BB users find valuable for each position. As you are D.V, if you choose to acquire a player or two, I would aim for a salary between 8k and 20k for starters.

Hi DanJ,

And welcome on BuzzerBeater.

There is so much to learn in this game that you may get drowned by the mass of infos. So the best suggestion I can offer is to take a look on the Mentor Program that exists in your country, and get advised by a confirmed American player ;-).
