Just curious if anyone has noticed this...

This year I purchased a new big man - he's got a better salary than anyone else on my team, by just a bit, but his performance (in terms of points and even rebounds) has been subpar in the few weeks I have had him.

Similarly, last season, I purchased a new guard who sub-performed for the last few weeks of the season, but started out this season on a tear and has been tremendous for me.

Anyone else notice this trend with new transfers having an "adjustment" period?

New transfers can often come onto your team with poor gameshape. Especially if they were bought as a free agent from an inactive team. Also some higher salary players tend bought off lower tier teams can have poor gameshape since the manager was starting them every game. Looking back at the history of the two transfers you are talking about that would be my guess as to what happened. You bought them with subpar gameshape, then after a few weeks of proper minutes management their gameshape got up to strong/proficient and they started to perform like the rest of your players.

Great observation - I hadn't thought of that!
