I have 8 scouting points now...Should i keep spending the 40k for the next 3 weeks in order to get 20 points to do scouting combine and scout some players that I want? According to my standing in the league...is it worth doing so?

From what I can see, you are 7th in your league so I wouln't put that much emphasis on scouting as chances are you won't get great players. However, I didn't check out the other lower guys in your league. If they are Bots or inactive then it might be worth a gamble but even then I wouldn't spend 40k a week on scouting. You can use that money more effectively by saving it and buying a new trainee when the new season comes in

I'm actually 5th in the league now...So you don't have chances landing one medicore prospect 1 out of the 3?
:( that's sad to know....

My bad....initial typo.. What I meant was 7th last so that means there are 6 teams that would pick in front of you.

I think the chances are you would get a decent trainable guy but won't be anyone with good potential AND skills. But again, this depends on if there are bots and inactive teams but it certainly is not worth spending 40k per week over.

Although what you are saying is true most of the time, there are exceptions..This past draft I landed an 18 yr old HOF potential, $4996 Guard with the 13th pick.

It can happen :-)

There is one team that turned bot last week. Currently I have 8 point and if i get 4 more points, that will leave me with 12 pts. So if i do a Scouting Combine, then what will i get?? Just the stats of all player and their salary estimate (from their game rating). 2 points left...I won't be able to scout twice, So i have to guess on all potential by their salary?

I wasn't discounting the fact that it won't happen thats why I mentioned that unless there are bots/inactive guys, it is highly unlikely to happen

Scouting should be an ongoing process. i.e you do it throughout the season rather than do minimal initially and do 40k over the last few weeks. You will get more points if you budget accordingly and do 2 points per week over time rather than do nothing in one week and try do 4 the following weeks.

Unfortunately it is a cost/benefit issue you will have to weigh up on whether you think you will be able to get a decent pick.

If you do the scouting combine, it will just give you the heights and ages of all the players. it will tell you nothing about their skills. This is good if you have a set type of player (e.g a guard or a big man) that you want to get out of the draft.

Othewise, the group demo might be a better option as it lets you find out the skills of all 1-2 ball players. I've been told that the grey balls are extremely inaccruate and some of these 1-2 ball players are actually 4-5 ball players.

So I dont have to do scouting combine prior to group demonstration? Thats nice. yeah...I had not spend any money at the very beginning at the season as I was expanding my stadium and strengthening my squad...Now I had some extra money and my ranking was not as high as of now so I decided to do some scouting.

So what kind of "skills" will i find out about the players from group demostration??

Straight from the scouting page:

Group Demonstration: In order to help get their names out there, all of the players your scout estimated to be 1-ball or 2-ball prospects have offered to arrange a demonstration of their skills. This option is equivalent to scouting each of these players once, though it will not provide any additional information for players you have already scouted.

It will give you a 1 to 5 ball ranking based on their current skills.

You'll know nothing of age, potential or height.
