hey guys

ok, so i finished last in my league - signed up as a new player a couple of weeks back

anyway, i did some draft and scouting and the guy i selected and interviewed basically has this:

18 Y.O, 5 Ball Star Rating, 5 Ball Potentional, PF, Grade rating of A+, and is 6"10

what i need to do know is what are my chances of actually acquiring this guy? and yes i have put him as my 1st choice on my list

if i do end up getting him, could this be a really great player?

any feedback is appreciated

He will be an awesome player
SOmeone you'll probably want to sell for an enormous amount of money
that will help your team buy nice players and update your arena

You have a great chance of drafting him
you will draft 3rd
Team that drafts #1 is new and hasn't done much scouting
Team #2 hasn't been online in almost 2 months
Good luck

hey headless, thanks for the response.

when you say awesome player, do you mean he will be good enough to represent australian junior team?

i have read posts about people training there young players

do you think it will just be easier for me to sell this guy (providing i actually get him) instead of training him up?

thanks mate

you have pick #3. this is because last team in the other conference finished with a record of 4-18 so they get #1 and the second last team in that conference had the same record 6-16 but had a worse PD so he get #2.

with pick #3 you have a good chance at drafting your player because im assuming the other 2 teams havent done much scouting and it will be unlikely they found your prospect. but it is all luck mate who knows they somehow might get lucky.

if you can... train him cause he will be the face of your team for a long time to come. it is a long process but from what i hear well worth it. however if you want to progress quicker you can sell for big bucks and purchase a team to promote easy

I've only been around for a short while so I am sure there are others with more qualified opinions.
However, from what I've learned so far:
Division IV teams will never be able to fully train a prospect of this magnitude
You have a new team with a crappy record
You need to get better players and build your arena
Buy experienced players in the backcourt and trainees up front
or the other way around
I took that advice and have gone 22-0 in my first full sseason and will surely (Most likely)
advance to level III after the playoffs
Good luck

ah well if i cant train him cause im in div 4 then that sucks! oh well, i suppose getting some cash to start with would be nice after all

does this mean he could have MVP potential?

As others have said, considering that you're in div IV, it'd be hard to keep training him to be U21 and NT player, as the player salary will become very high and you'll eventually have to sell him.
Although he's a great prospect, as you've only joined a few weeks back, the priority goes to building arena and building your team, getting some young trainable players etc. So if I were you, I'd sell him for good cash (he can be sold for millions due to his high potential) and use that to build arena and buy some young (preferrably 18 year old) trainees.
