I don't see this as being adding much value to the player's BB experience.
The 10 names it generates are random in either case so what point is there from choosing 1 of 10 random names or just sticking with the one you were given to begin with?
As also pointed out to you, it will lag the offseason processing more if you are adding more processes to it.
I also don't think it realistic that you can choose a players name. Its like saying well lets call Jason Kidd, Lebron James, because Lebron James is a much cooler name. No Kidding!
Honestly after I posted this, soon right after I realized 10 was too much and should be reduced down to 3. In response to the Lebron James comment, this idea actually works in favor of this when you think about it. This is no stab at BB but the names aren't as cool as in real life. So look at the bottom option of 3 Random American names (randomly made by me, if anyway associated with your name or your players names its completely coincidental):
1. Sedwig Loomis
2. Henry Baugharter
3. Darius Woods
Sure there be few here and there that would choose option 1 or 2 but its safe to say choice 3 is most popular, it's definitely the most NBA like name. Users being able to choose names would actually escalate more cool names but not outrageous amount because there would always be those cases where the 3 just sound normal, so the cool name factor in this case works just perfect.
As mentioned in the other forum for the face generator, they all happen before the offseason and all what it is, it's just submitting of one name and not 3, or 10, just 1. Everything that is generated can happen slowly and gradually from the start of the season just like with the draft info starts to appear in midseason as it can be generated slowly from beginning of the season to midseason which is like 2 months in real life.
