Hi all, I need an advice on this defense, which I've never played since I got started with BB.

On saturday I'll play my second RL game versus a team that has a very good inside offense. They always play Look Inside, their best scorer is the SF followed by the PF. They have a pretty weak backcourt, however.

Now, on tuesday I played a 2-3 defense and I lost despite home court advantage. That didn't look very effective.
For the next game, I'm thinking about trying out FCP: the idea would be to play aggressively on his guards and, hopefully, prevent the ball from reaching the paint. I have the feeling that the 2-3 zone is too conservative, I need to cut the passes before they reach their big men. FCP might be the answer.

Does that sound like a good idea?

FCP works against some kind of player, and less against some kind of tactics. A good example is this one -> (3165543)(look at season 7 and say if you could spot the fcp games) And player like this ain't shown in the offensiv flow, which could be affected by an medium point guard who normally don't struggle much against a fcp.

If you try to disturb his game opponing a 3-2 would be more effective - even when i am not a big fan of this theory. A good alternative to 2-3 is always the man to man defence.

Thanks for the help; I'll probably try with 3-2 or 1-3-1.

Your latest game is particularly interesting bossofbosses, although my opponent doesn't actually have a very bad offensive flow, it was mediocre (medium) in our latest game, but on the other hand they're one of the teams with the most TOs in our whole league.

One thing that concerns me is that I've already allowed them more rebounds in game-1; now, playing away and with 1-3-1, I might get crushed under the boards. Still, I have to take some risk if I want to survive...
