Additionally, using different offensive/defensive tactics have different inherent proclivities for certain stats. Obviously RnG or may even Push will have more TOs, but things like LI or 3-2 will boost rebounding.

I'd think it's handling because improving passing means that a player will pass more. The percentage of those passes being intercepted may decrease, but because the player passes more frequently, the number of TO created may still be high. So handling may decrease the TO by a greater factor compared to passing.
However, one could also argue that better handling means a player will handle the ball more often, hence increasing the chance of TO.
So there are two sides to this argument. But IMO handling is more effective in reducing TO compared to passing.

I'll start with ball handling then.

I have noticed you played your last two games against Full Court Press defenses, they force turnovers, it's probably why you are asking for advices.
18 TO is quite acceptable against a FCP. 26 was maybe a tad too much but it looks like it was a crazy game, extremly high-paced, I am not sure you have lost the game on TO. I don't know if you need to focus on reducing turnovers but handling and passing are very nice to have at all five positions anyways.
All the advices you were given are good. Against a FCP, handling is important, the manual is very clear about it.
