Dear all, sorry for not able to publish any news about our NT this season previously due to my personal hectic schedule. Today is our last competitive match and here's the overall game-by-game results and our star(s) of the match.

91 Việt Nam 76 - 106 (Replay) 37 Malaysia
Star: Sharif (20), Ithnin (17)

37 Malaysia 113 - 89 (Replay) 84 Lubnan
Star: Zailizam (23), Kwu (20), Ithnin (19, Reb 10), Samsul (12, Ast 11), Yao (11, Reb 11)

73 Kazakhstan 93 - 106 (Replay) 33 Malaysia
Star: Ithnin (23, Reb 13), Yao (12, Reb 14)

38 Malaysia 61 - 100 (Replay) 18 Hong Kong [Hong Kong put more into this game than Malaysia]
Star: Samsul (11, Reb 7 Ast 9)

4 China 112 - 84 (Replay) 37 Malaysia
Star: Kwu (22)

68 U.A.E. 107 - 94 (Replay) 37 Malaysia [U.A.E. put more into this game than Malaysia]
Star: Sharif (30), Ithnin (22, Reb 14), Shawal (10, Reb 5 Ast 8)

Malaysia finished third in the first phase. The most shocking result of this round for Malaysia was the stunning defeat by UAE. The most notable player is our team captain, Ithnin (of Ampang Stuporsonics) who was consistent in all matches. Up and coming young star, Yao was also magnificent.

[Second Phase]

40 Malaysia 78 - 107 (Replay) 20 Philippines [Philippines put more into this game than Malaysia]
Star: Saidi (25, Reb 11), Halim (13, Reb 14)

39 Nippon 84 - 98 (Replay) 53 Malaysia
Star: Shawal (23), Ithnin (14, Reb 14), Yao (11, Reb 11)

6 Australia 103 - 87 (Replay) 52 Malaysia
Star: Ithnin (20, Reb 15)

69 Pakistan 78 - 98 (Replay) 50 Malaysia [Pakistan put more into this game than Malaysia]
Star: Ithnin (31), Shawal (14, Reb 7, Ast 7)

40 Malaysia 103 - 102 (Replay) 18 Hong Kong [Malaysia looked like the only team trying out there]
Star : Kwu (36), Ithnin (20, Reb 9)

The unexpected win against HK (my first ever) in the last game meant that we finished level on points with Philippines and HK with a 3-2 record. However, I think we did a favour for the Philipines as they are the ones who will enter into SF with a slightly better score difference (+47) against HK's (+42). Malaysia has a -10 point difference, so we have to settle for No. 4 in the table. Not a bad season, I reckon.

Overall, my player of the season would be Ithnin (the oldest player in my squad) and my favourite young player is no doubt Yao, who really impressed me this season. Hopefully, the young players will continue to grow and perhaps one fine day, they will lead Malaysia back to qualify for SF again, or even better, the WC!!

Cheers!
