I don't know if I should report this as a bug or this is the purpose of potential.

My player was at the start of the season with this skills:

Jump Shot: wondrous Jump Range: prolific
Outside Def.: tremendous Handling: sensational
Driving: sensational Passing: proficient
Inside Shot: pitiful Inside Def.: average
Rebounding: pitiful Shot Blocking: atrocious
Stamina: mediocre Free Throw: pitiful

He is Age: 22
Height: 6'1" / 185 cm

After a full season of training his skills are now:

Jump Shot: wondrous Jump Range: sensational
Outside Def.: tremendous Handling: sensational
Driving: sensational Passing: proficient
Inside Shot: pitiful Inside Def.: average
Rebounding: pitiful Shot Blocking: atrocious
Stamina: mediocre Free Throw: pitiful

So the conclusion is only one pop.

Training plan with 48+ every week:

W1:Jump Shot for PG / SG
W2:Jump Shot for PG / SG
W3:Outside Shooting for PG / SG
W4:Outside Shooting for SG
W5:Outside Shooting for SG - 1 pop
W5:Pressure for PG
W6:Pressure for PG
W7:Pressure for PG
W8:Pressure for PG
W9:Pressure for PG
W10:One on One for PG / SG
W11:One on One for PG / SG
W12:Pressure for PG
W13:One on One for PG / SG

So is this the expectancy of the a 22 year old allstar trainee?

Ok it was my conclusion as well but salary cap doesn't mean that he will not be train anymore.
And even if the salary cap has been achieved 6-7 weeks of training the single position should make him pop.

PS: This is why i think the new salary system will kill lower potential players. They should have changed the salary limit for at least the allstar players because they will no loger be allstar players like this.

The problem here is that player cap is not affected by the total skill points but the calculated salary for those skills.

The numbers come from the salary cap that you found in the Help minus the salary drops in the last 2 seasons.

From this 2 statements i have only one issue.

allstar = 60k salary is an allstar player that could play in the national league
allstar = 45k salary is a mediocre player.

My idea was that if the salary droped the he should be able to get back to 60k salary making him a better player and not move his cap down.
I train him from when he was 18 and when he is 21 i could fire him because he is to weak for a div I team and his worth a penny.

Hope they increase the number of >7 potential players.

The way it has impacted the potential is in this way:

Let's say that he could still get the same skills as before but now he will reach his cap at 45-50k salary
A perennial allstar will now get from the 120k cap to about 100k salary (i don't know if this is the accurate value but i think that is close enough) witch will make a big hole between the two.
In terms of skills he could be pretty close to what he could be before but the issue is that he capped at 22 years and the training plan is redundant now.And so is the allstar potential.
I try to be objective about this issue but i seems to me that for a div I team the allstar potential is useless.

The one good thing (at least for me, sorry mate) is realizing how very SLOW can training be after the cap is reached.

Seriously, 6 weeks of 1-pos pressure training on a 6'1" 22-old player and no pops? Damn.

I know it's easy to say this now, but with low potential players (well, at least low for your team) it's good to ask yourself something before beginning training: What do I want this player to be?

Because obviously, with limited potential come limited skills. So an allstar cannot be all-around great PG, but more like either scorer/defender or passer/defender.

That's why I think you should concentrate only on those skills that are important for your team. If you are playing a lot of Look inside/Low post, train Driving and Passing (and IS a bit) and don't train too much Jump Range. And viceversa for an outside tactic.

The main thing when training such a player is which skills contribute more to skillcap and which less. For PGs, that's JR, OD and PA (in that order, I think). So in order to train a limited player, you will have to leave out one of these three.

Let me show you my two trainees:

Vanja Zorin (15079234)
Point Guard
Owner: KK Bonifika

Weekly salary: $ 8 918
Role: regular starter
(BuzzerBeta)

DMI: 134100
Age: 20
Height: 6'0" / 183 cm
Potential: allstar
Game Shape: strong
Jump Shot: sensational Jump Range: inept
Outside Def.: sensational Handling: prolific
Driving: sensational Passing: proficient
Inside Shot: pitiful Inside Def.: respectable
Rebounding: pitiful Shot Blocking: atrocious
Stamina: mediocre Free Throw: strong

Experience: pitiful

Armin Maierle (15079213)
Shooting Guard
Owner: KK Bonifika

Weekly salary: $ 10 956
Role: regular starter
(BuzzerBeta)

DMI: 89300
Age: 21
Height: 6'4" / 193 cm
Potential: allstar
Game Shape: strong
Jump Shot: sensational Jump Range: strong
Outside Def.: prolific Handling: prolific
Driving: prolific Passing: inept
Inside Shot: pitiful Inside Def.: respectable
Rebounding: mediocre Shot Blocking: respectable
Stamina: inept Free Throw: respectable

Experience: pitiful

Zorin is more of a PG (with passing and JR training starting in next season), while Maierle is more of a Shooting guard. I can't develop all important skills equally and that's why Zorin will have not more than Respectable JR, but Sensational Passing, while Maierle will have no more than Respectable Passing, but Prominent or even Prolific JR.
