May 2006, the Italian Soccer Community was shocked by a scandal of fixed games! The Scandal had 5 teams involved, amongst them are 4 top shot teams such as (Lazio, Firentina, Milan & Juventus - whom was relegated to Serie B). Yet rumors are going around the Lebanese Super Buzzer League speaking about a Local Version of the CalcioPoli and that is occuring during season 16 (Present Season).
The Rumor, according to sources speaks about a Lebanese power horse team "Team A" that was dominating the league in the previous seasons and was filled up with high class players (European Internationals amongst the team as well) has recently started selling his players in cheap prices for the benefits of another team "Team B" (who apparently was competing him for the title in the past 2 seasons). The sources say that "Team B" have paid a substantial amount of money for "Team A" to sell his player because he was going through financial crisis and he really needed to win this year's league to insure sponsors and make sure that his team will keep getting the financial support especially after a couple of years of failure in the League and Cup!
These rumors are still circulating around but apparently have reached the ears of the LSBL's comissioner "Lebanese Super Buzzer League highest authority" that ordered his assistant to form an urgent comity to study the situation and file a report in within 2 weeks maximum!
Are we up for another Calciopoli? Are we going to see big names falling apart due to UN-sportsmanship or is it just a flame to heat on the up coming season? All this will be uncovered when the comity comes out with their final report!
Till then, Enjoy the games ;-)!
