I thought I had a handle on this rating, but with further research, I don't know nothin'.

In my game last night, I had an OF of Inept(Low), a rating my team rose to after a round of passing training and the purchase of RESPECTABLE handling and passing PG. So I check out the transfer list to seek further improvement and I find a lad with STRONG handling and PROLIFIC passing. Wondering how much this wonder boy would improve my OF, I checked out his last start, in which he earned a 7.0.

His team played at AWFUL(MEDIUM)!! Worse than me!!

This makes absolutely no sense to me. How is this possible?

Any thoughts?

His stamina is STRONG, too in case you were considering that response.

1. Did you played tha same tactics, and line up
2. Your opponents tactics ( I think that this is the most important thing)
3. Your opponents defense

Offensive flow does not only depend on your own players.

Tactics choice for example is also included, check out the 5th paragraph in the "Game Engine" rules.

My guess is you're in a low division and the point guard you saw is on a weak team in a high division.

Couldn't he have been a great point guard on a team with a bunch of poor passing & handling players?

Of course not. I have my own players, he has his.

I strongly disagree that this is has a more than trivial effect on your team's rating.

3. Your opponents defense

This is the same as your #2, is it not?

Sorry, but nothing you say is helpful, unfortunately.

If you mean the paragraph that begins with "Obviously the success of your team depends...", I read this to mean that tactics is independent of OF because the second sentence begins "The better offensive flow you have". I take that to mean no matter what tactic you choose, "The better offensive flow you have" you will have more success. So tactics and OF are independent, as I read this.

I thought of that, but why sell him unless you are training guards that are as good or better for your own team? Isn't more likely he has two ball handlers in his regular lineup that are as good or better than this guy?

There isn't that much difference between the divisions yet, certainly not enough to account for this.

Thanks for all the comments, but I don't think any of us is on the right track yet.

Any other thoughts? I'm still baffled.

Financial reasons? Maybe he has 2 good point guards but nothing decent at any other position.
