Did anyone tried this tactic to important matches?

If yes, how was the experience?

I'm pretty sure my opponent, which is as strong as me, is going to play Run n Gun or Motion, so I wonder if I should go with the classic 3:2 zone, or outside box and one.

Any suggestion based on personal experience appreciated, thanks

If your team is really good. It's always better to play one on one.

My most recent cup opponent used it (35612073) when I only played 6 players, all backups. I crushed him but I don't know if this good enough data to make a conclusion of the Outside box and one. I've personally never have used it and I've rarely see anyone use it.
As far as 3-2 or Ouside box and run. I'd pick 3-2. 3-2, when you have good OD, is one of the best defensive tactics.

m2m has its own weakness,
basically u can have the wrong match up

------------
if the opponent is really going outside 1-3-1 is not a bad choice if u can secure the reb

Well I guess I'll go with the proven one, 3:2 zone.

I used it in a league game against a team with a 100k guard (his best man by far and my best guard has 21k)

http://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/32908695/boxscore.aspx ([gameid=32908695])

He had the stronger team and better ratings, but if I had played normal instead of TIE, I might have won.
His superstar guard actually only scored the second most points and I held him to a 12.0 rating on 7-21 shooting (season low), so I think it is a very good tactic against teams with only one big standout player.

Simply, if you watch the game you can confirm that the really wrong match ups got with the zone in this game, not at all like in in a really basketball game when as a coach you use certain players in certain zone areas.

Of course, in this game, zone is better that m2m for some teams but not if you grow your team in the right way.

my 3-2zone is air tight ^^
I can tie most game even against stronger opponent

and i can create mismatch in opponent's m2m defense so that i can score 70 even if my offense is lower than the defense
