This would be a nice solution to a problem that affects PD and training in higher leagues. If a team without five or more <10k players goes bot, it should automatically sign "replacement" players (scrubs) to play out the remaining league games, to avoid walkovers vs. one player and four lucky fans, etc.

I should also add that keeping at least five players on the roster could be a requirement for all teams, as the salary floor to my knowledge still allows a team to cut all of its players but pay a penalty? Teams that tank to the point of causing walkovers, such as BB-Forrest's team (pre-salary floor - a bit shady from a timing standpoint in retrospect, but way to go I guess?) shouldn't be allowed to do so.

No team IRL would be allowed participation in a league structure if they effectively forfeited every game.

I don't see the point in the suggestion to be honest. I think it is trying to solve the effects of a greater problem, when in reality the cause is what we need to solve. And the cause of the problem, as you mentioned, is forfeiting (i.e. lining up less than 3 players). I think a better suggestion would simply be to allow teams to have whatever number of players they want, and line up as few players as they want, but simply make it that lucky fans will be used in the game.

So if someone lines up 2 players in a game, then 3 lucky fans will be used.
And if someone doesn't line up any players, then 5 lucky fans will be used.

This will effectively make having 5 players on a bot team irrelevant I think.

I dislike the idea.

I prefer they just lose by -25 than giving free average to the others teams, it would be unfair for the competition.

That is a walkover game though, so I'm not sure if it is run the same way as a normal game.
If you look at games where there are only 3 or 4 players lined up (which means there is a lucky fan or two) then the games are run quite normally. Look at all my games this season to see this.
And yes, I hate injuries in walkovers! :P

Well hopefully they take on my suggestion and simply fill all empty spots with lucky fans :)

That's what happens already, isn't it?

I'm thinking this: what league structure would allow participant teams to not field a team week after week? Or to pull players from the stands, instead of recruiting replacement-level talent (1k scrubs) if it comes down to that?

BB is simming professional sports, not a middle school rec league.
