What about introducing this stat too? I know that's not an Nba stat, but I think this could be very indicative either of how much a player is dangerous offensively or how the defender is in trouble guarding him and so is forced to commit fouls.

I say it cause during the report of the game, I often see that the commentator says "Foul called on...": you know who the foul was called on, but you do not know who drew the foul! :)

i dont have any proof, but by logic, drawing foul could be tied into experience and driving. Driving is obvious since the more you drive and get banged up in the paint, the more fouls you are likely to draw from opponents. I say experience because supposedly experience allows a player to take smart shots and play better. A lot of the time (if you watch NBA), when a defender commits to a pump fake, a shooting foul is inevitable as long as you toss your hands in the air to act like you are shooting and make body contact. (Kobe is really good at this) An unexperienced player might not take advantage of the commitment from the defender.


I think a foul drawing skill is not concrete enough to be a skill by itself.
