I was wondering what offenses and defenses are good for a team of short players. I have one 7 footer and the rest of my players range from 5'9-6'8 and I can't seem to find the right offensive and defensive playing style. Help!

what will wanted to say, if someone have respectable rebounding it doesn't matter if he 6" or 7". But the size affect the player creation, and most importantly the training speed so that bigger player tend to get Center and power forward while the small one will play at the guard position.

Hi. The first thing you should do is trim your roster down to about 12 guys. Put the other guys on the transfer list or fire them. Having 23 players is unnecessary.

As far as getting your guys into the right positions, their suggested position is a decent guide.

PG- passing, outside defense, handling, and jump range are what I consider most important.
SG- jump shot, outside defense, jump range, and handling
SF- jumps hot, driving, outside defense, rebounding
PF- inside d, rebounding, inside shot, and jump shot
C- inside d, rebounding, inside shot

so look at your roster and see which players you have with those skills as their highest. Until you figure things out, base offense and man to man is a good way to go, tactically. That said, you have one guy, your center, who is a monster for d.V. You might try playing inside isolation.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

As was already stated, you want to trim that roster down. At least to 15, preferably 12, by next Monday before the next financial update. Don't look at age too much or potential or even height right now. Just their abilities. Defense is key here, especially in lower divisions so try to keep guys with good OD that can play the PG and SG spots. Look for guys on your roster with average or higher OD and ID and these guys will potentially be your SF and ID guys for PF and C. Anyone with less than Inept at each of these positions should be placed on the transfer list, if they don't sell by Thursday, just fire them so you don't pay for them for one week. They will give up a lot more points than they will get and are not worth keeping.

Next you'll start looking for trainees 18-19 yo guys with all star+ potential (perhaps lower if you just want to train them for the rest of this season and their starting skills look good) that you can one or two position train... if you have a guy that looks like he can be trainable right now, look for guys that can play that spot or the spot next to it SF or C if you like PF for instance. For this week if it doesn't look like you can get anyone trainable, just team train Stamina or Free Throws. You could even do this the rest of the year and sit on the money for a trainer and find trainees next season.

If you have good defenders man to man tends to be a good choice for defenses, but it depends on what the opponent does, but if you keep/ get good defenders it's much better than trying to hide poor ones.

AS far as offense it depends on what you have/ get as well. If you have a lot of good (Respectable+) jump shooters than an outside offense is best. If you have a lot of good Inside shot guys than Look Inside or Low Post is better. I personally like balance and being able to go from an Inside attack to and Outside one but that's taken me a whole season to develop.

I haven't been around a long time but I have gotten a lot of help getting started so if you have any questions send me a BBmail.
