I've always been a guard trainer, so I don't know anything about big men potential and salaries.

So, I just bought this guy from the TR (he was retired, so I cannot ask his former owner for any training info). He's only 23, and has all-star potential with a salary of just over 45k. I'm wondering if I can try to squeeze in a couple pops with JS or 1-1, but I dont know if he has reached his cap.

Meng Yifang (11821903) Center
Weekly salary: $ 45 007

Age: 23
Height: 7'2" / 218 cm
Potential: allstar
Game Shape: average
Jump Shot: awful Jump Range: atrocious
Outside Def.: awful Handling: atrocious
Driving: inept Passing: mediocre
Inside Shot: tremendous Inside Def.: sensational
Rebounding: wondrous Shot Blocking: mediocre

Thanks.

well, there's no way to know for sure unless you try, but I'd say it's pretty likely he has reached his cap.

Doesn't All Star potential cap out at salary of 50-60K?

im fairly sure he didnt reach his cap simply because I have a 22yo trainee with allstar potential.

you can Definitely squeeze in a bit of secondaries in there.

But your 22yo all-star potential player has a salary of 27k. Mine has a salary of 45k.

I'm not sure anymore with all of the salaries changing. And Im not sure about big men, because I train guards. And also, are there sublevels for potentials?

mine may be 27k, but your guy is higher by ONE skill pop in inside shot. EVERY other skill category my guy is the same or higher (every secondary skill is wayyyyyyyyyy higher).

there you go.

There could be sublevels for potential in that not every allstar will cap out at the EXACT same salary but it doesnt range enough for you to worry
edit: if you are too stupid to believe, just goto the TL and compare your guy to others and see how much room you got left.

I believe your C hast reached his cap. I had a similar C with a salary of 46k, allstar potential, and he has been capped. I tried it many weeks until I found out he couldn´t learn anything more.

I haven´t searched on the TL, but I doubt there are many allstar C with a salary higher than ~45-50k.

Yeah, but that guy's allstar potential is not the same as allstar from players arriving after season 5. Hence the allstar*

Actually, if you don't include the allstar* guy, you'll find that the vast majority of center/big men have salaries in the 50K range. SOme have salaries in the mid 60K, and I found 1-2 at 70K, and one dude who was like 115K.

What is more relevant than actual salary however is the total number of skill points. If you go through and add those up, you'll find that most big men have 70-79 skill points. THis was even true of the 115K guy: he had huge primary skills but really awful secondary skills.

That being said, seeing as the OP's guy had 61 skill points, it seems safe to assume he hasn't completely capped.
