it helps the players performance in the 4th quarter(last minutes), and affect the decision making of the player the whole game(like if the player should take the shot or is your team able to get an better oppurtunity).

I imagine that players with higher experience will perform better in big games (rivals, playoffs, cup, etc.) as well as perform better in the last minutes of tight games. Just speculating...
